    Simple. You don't. There is no support for any USB peripherals in DOS whatsoever. You'll need to find a gameport joystick.

    WC3 sound and music problems

    You have ran into the "VIA's AC97 controller professes to have DOS compatibility but in reality does not" problem. If you want sound in DOS, you'll have to get some other sound card. The onboard AC97 just won't do it (frustrating, I know).

    You all seem to be mucking this up pretty bad, so I'll straighten a few things out. Win95, Win98, and Win98SE had full versions of MS-DOS still running underneath the operating system. This is how you were able to restart to native MS-DOS mode on these OS's and run all of these older games...
