Reconciling Fighter and Capital ship stats across the WC games

You know, the kilrathi did that too with the dralthi. ;)

Reconciling Fighter and Capital ship stats across the WC games

One thing to reconcile. Assume wing1 was more like ww1 tech, maneuverability was king. come ww2, fighters started focusing more on speed. wc1: turning fights wc2: more turning (with better guns) wc3: more missiles and speed wc4: deadlier missiles wcp: tech uplift, but cost reduction so no funky...

Reconciling Fighter and Capital ship stats across the WC games

From WCSaga's files Arrow is as nimble as a ferret, Rapier is faster, same as my measurements. Hellcat is slightly more nimble than a broadsword thud is as slow as a 'sword is swifter than an excal. Excal is not as nimble as an arrow, more than a hellcat Longbow is unforgivable.

Reconciling Fighter and Capital ship stats across the WC games

epee = 2.5 seconds for a 360 so 144 dps rapier seems to be the same Sabre seems to be 3.5ish, so 100. Morningstar seems the same Crossbow is the same Wraith seems 2.5ish, so rapier and epee maneuverability Broadsword is actually interesting, 60 dps.

Reconciling Fighter and Capital ship stats across the WC games

Would it be safe to assume that wing2/sm2 with the speed limiter and the 20 fps would be constant in terms of speed. a ferret takes 3.5ish to do a 360 yaw, looks like 100 dps? I cannot get WCA to load right now, but I would not be surprised if most ships scales similarly.

I assumed the maneuverability can be explained by testing the speed to do a 360. The shielding / armor: new technology. Basically fighters got phase shields and no longer use plastisteel but now use durasteel. :) As for sizes, I would always say "a cockpit is 2-3 meters, scale the model from that.

    In Praise of Prophecy

The combat is fun. I finally got my wish of playing with a gratha's loadout by virtue of the tigershark. It has amazing mods. The Kilrathi are fun to see. Maestro tries so hard with the lines he's given. The capship coms are really good. the collision detection was much much better than any...

WC3 Neutron Gun stats and possible errors

https://www.wcnews.com/articles/gunchart.htm in wc1/2 laser : 1.8 cm/ mass driver: 4.5 cm particle: 4.3 cm neutron: 3.0 cm turreted neutron gun: 7.0 cm Neutrons are trash with a placebo effect.

WC3 Neutron Gun stats and possible errors

The weapons in wc didn't really make sense. IIRC the in game damages are as follows: in wc1 laser < neutron < mass driver in wc2 laser < neutron < mass driver < turreted neutron privateer made sense armada chaos ensues wing 3+: laser == efficient ion == garbage tachyon == good all that mattered.

What do you HATE (or at least dislike) in each Wing Commander game?

WC:Saga - Joking about drugging and sexually assaulting the comm officer aged like milk. Also, but less bad: over the top Hail Mary. and the kinney mission one interesting ONCE. I'm glad (Niffiwan?) fixed it with save points.

I am definitely interested... you know what could be fun also is a time bubble that brings the gemini chars to vega or something. ;) Let's do a crossover!

    WC3 rpg

Easiest way to see is to join. It's kinda d20 based but uses a custom bot. @Iceblade will handle the gameplay balance and stuff (hint, dralthi are death incarnate) and I tend to do graphical stuff https://discord.gg/W8KX254RVE Example freeze frame...

    WC3 rpg

Right now, I'm playing an RPG based in the gemini sector from confed's point of view. It's really fun to explore the interactions all these broad caricatures of people will face while giant murdercats are trying to kill them. Shameless plug: geminisector.wikidot.com
