    A question in morality

I played WC2, and wasn't too happy about Hobbes then. But after going through secret ops with him, I grew to love the big furball, and thought it was awesome, if a little odd for such a major confed propaganda item to be in an old, decrepit ship, that he was on the Victory with me. He really was...

    Jump Point Defense

I should think that what with the rather extreme mothballing ops that Confed was running, they wouldn't have the either the transports to lay the mines, or even enough mines to deploy. And, as I recall reading in the Jump FAQ, mining was a standard practice, but it was countered by sending...

    Wing Commander on Ice

Nice, man. Funny, I always built fighters and stuff out of legos, but I never thought to try my hand at making WC fighters.

    Question about Jazz

A mole hunt then. Confed releases a tidbit of useful -to a traitor- information, then clamps down on him/her when the traitor uses that information to his/her advantage.

Differences between WCIV CD and DVD version

I'm referring, specifically, to the ultra high quality dvd version, and the 6 cd version. So far, the only thing I've for sure noticed is that when Seether kills Paulsen, you don't really see the throat being slit in the DVD version. It seems that Pliers is much more talkative in the...

Evidence from WC4 that Blair is a Pilgrim

Good point, but it seems to me that is something Confed would want to keep secret. Not good for morale for people to learn that the hero is a Pilgrim, and would de facto have certain advantages in space flight that others don't have. Wouldn't make him as special anymore. Would make him the...

Evidence from WC4 that Blair is a Pilgrim

IIRC, in the books, the Kilrathi used taunts like, "Bugs Bunny screws his mother", because they had intercepted old broadcasts of looney toons, thought that Bugs Bunny was some kind of revered figure, and decided that insulting him would engrage the hairless apes. Confed pilots thought it was...

    Help in P2 mission.

Yes, ironic, is it not? And no, I personally have never shot a sign, metric or otherwise. :p

    Help in P2 mission.

When the US transportation system tried to go with metric signs, Americans showed how much we liked the metric system by riddling the signs with 9mm bullets. :D

    A question in morality

But back to topic: I always took care of the peaceful Kats in WCIV and WCV. I figured that, 1. Melek could have killed me, and nobody would have ever known. Yet, he didn't. 2. The war is over. The Kats that screwed with me and my life are dead. I killed them myself. In WCV, I was still...

    A question in morality

Edibility usually ranks number one. Lethality usually ranks number two. (though it can replace edibility depending on the circumstance/region) Skill required to kill ranks number three. (though that will definitely be different depending on who you talk to) Particularily with fish, the...

Blair's role in the Battle for Earth?

That's an incredibly impressive defensive performance. Battle of Earth confed is up against nearly 3:1 odds just in fighter to fighter combat, and they still won the engagement. And IIRC, they were up against the elite, to boot.

    A question in morality

Bobcats are more like a Lynx. Not that big of a cat. Mountain lion = cougar (in most regions, anyway. semantics differ) Cougar's are big cats. Bobcats are much smaller. A cougar could kill a person if it felt it was cornered. A bobcat probably couldn't. I've seen my share of bears, and...

Kurasawa 2 - Your tips and tricks

I remember the Heaven's Gate mission in WC2, where you lose Spirit, was kind of like that for me. Couldn't beat it (didn't know about afterburners 13 years ago. ) So, I discovered on accident that if you went to nav1/2 ( I forget which) and headed back to the concordia . . ...

Toughest ace to beat in WC (any)

Kur was the nastiest ace I ever fought. After a dozen tries or so, I managed to take him out, barely, with a very crippled figther. 'Course, a few years later, once I discovered that I had afterburners, Kur was a piece of cake, compared to before. Only took me a couple of tries. :p Side...

    Suggestion: Wingmen

Mainly because everyone in the games pronounces it as Neff-ai-lum, even though the Hebrew word, Nephilim, is prounced differently -Neff-ill-eem-, meaning, "fallen ones" or, "those who have fallen" Which referred to a particular tribe of warlike, giantish men in the Messopotanium . . . . blaah...

    Missile usage

Always fun to drop a load of dumbfires into a tight kat formation. :D And of course, who could not love the mace? I would use missiles in WC2 conservatively. Better to slowly kill a couple of fighters than to have to slug it out with a Kamekh without missiles. WC4 missiles are indeed...
