The Rapier II has always been my favorite fighter, ever since I first flew it in wc1, so I would have to pick that one.

My guess would be that the shields just became much stronger between wc2 and wc3. I don’t know of any rule that says technology has to increase at a steady rate.

Since Confed continued to build Midway class ships, and Star Soldier makes such a big deal out of The Port Broughton’s wartime achievements, I think Carriers are probably still an important part of the fleet. I was a little surprised to find out that the battle cruisers don’t have any shields...

In Armada you can fly a Kilrathi fighter with a cloaking device and use it whenever you want.

What we’ve seen of the manual so far looks great. I just wish I could really buy Maniac’s book.

Is that the actual thickness of the armor or its equivalent in durasteel? Five meters of armor seems like quite a lot to have on a fighter.

How do you know it would be so difficult replace a ship's guns. In Privateer changing the guns seemed to be a very simple and quick job.

I’ve been wanting to get a copy of Privateer 2 but I haven’t played that game yet. Do the jump gates work differently than regular jump points.

In the videos of Arena ships occasionally fly through gate like things that appear to take them to different areas. I was wondering what they were exactly. Are they jump points, has confed figured out how to make mini-wormhole gates, or are they something else?

I haven’t played the game on the psp, but in the PC version you had to request landing, using the communications, before you could land.

The pictures look a lot better, and have more of a wing commander feel to them, from the new camera angle. I don’t think I will be able to tell which way makes the game more fun without actually playing it though.

I thought he was talking about the X-Wing books. My favorites are definitely the Heir to the Empire Trilogy. I stopped reading Starwars books after a while though mostly because I thought it got tiring having the fate of the galaxy hang by a thread in every story.
