    Wingmen Experience Level

I ran across a WC3 guide that seemed to suggest that your wingmen would improve with experience. So if you were to pick them for your wing, they would get better and better. For example, when I rarely ever used Flash because he would hardly last through even the easiest dogfights. If I were to...

    Tolwyn's silly cape in WC2

Yes, but it seemed as though the discrepancies weren't as obvious as in WC - you had to look a bit harder. When I saw WCM for the first time, I thought "What the hell!?!" right away.

    $$movie bucks$$$?

"Stunning graphics" for that time (personally, I enjoyed the story in WC2 more). I loaded up KS a couple of months ago with the intent of playing the WC games from the beginning (from 1 to WCP) but I couldn't do it. WC1 & 2 are just too primitive by today's standards so I ended up skipping to...

    Tolwyn's silly cape in WC2

The idea of a WC canon cracks me up. Is is just me or does it seem as though the WC games/books/movie are riddled with holes/discrepancies? I realize that there are always going to be holes in scifi series (ie Star Wars/Trek, Battlestar Gallatica, et al) but the WCU seems to have more than its...

    Roberts' Goings On?

I didn't find anything on Roberts consulting but here is an exerpt from CGW: Despite the departure of Chris Roberts and acquisition by Microsoft, Digital Anvil's epic space sim is still under intense development. And scrutiny. At press time, both companies were examining the project to...

    Roberts' Goings On?

Right. I read an article through gamespot (I think)which said that both Roberts have left Digital Anvil since Microsoft came along. However, from the article, it appears as though Freelancer development is still going strong. This leads me to the question: What is this talented duo up to?

    Roberts' Goings On?

What are the Roberts brothers up to these days? Are there any new developments in the works?

    Movie best parts!

Why would the FMVs in WC3-5 stop you from seeing the movie? Anyway, rent it first. Trust me there is no wait at the video store and you definitely want to try this one before you buy it. Let us know what you think.

    Movie best parts!

I thought it was stolen from Star Wars (Empire Strikes Back or Return of the Jedi).

    Movie best parts!

That's your opinion. But you'll agree that the movie was (very) far from a box office (in addition to a critical) success? When I tried to introduce a friend to the WC games he said, "Isn't this game based on that crappy movie?". :)

    WC4 official guide

Also, as I understand it, once you have it done, it will be necessary to have it done again sometime in the future (10 years?).

    Movie best parts!

In almost any scifi movie there are going to be those that don't understand the concept or plot. Most successful movies are able to overcome this (and bad reviews) - WC didn't. There have been plenty of good movies that got bad reviews and yet were very successful so I don't think it's fair to...

    Movie best parts!

I don't think it was intended as "A WC Movie FOR WC Fans". Anyone should have been able to pick up the plot - not just WC fans. Just like the X-men movie wasn't JUST for people who have read the X-men comics or seen the cartoon. And I saw the WC movie on the night it opened and so the reviews...

    Movie best parts!

Actually, as I understand it, Lucas originally created the SW franchise starting with EP1 through SW Return of the Jedi. He chose to film the last trilogy first because it was deemed to have more moviegoer appeal. The intent was always there to film EP1-3 - it's just taken 20 or so years to do...

    Idea

Really, how many people would want to pay for a 5+ year old game? I wonder if the re-released version would make enough money to justify even ONE executive decision meeting on the subject. I'm skeptical, they'd have to train tech support staff, advertise, etc.

    Idea

Or tell us to move on. Really, I don't know why they would spend a dime to re-release a game like KS that is itself a re-release of several games. If you add up all the re-releases and bundled deals, the WC games have really lived quite a long life.

    Read this shit!

But can you imagine how good a game would be to make WC look like Asteroids!?! I say "Bring it on!".
  19. M

    Read this shit!

God, you guys! It's just a marketing tool to say how good these games (whatever they are) are. They're not saying that WC is "like" Asteroids. And hey, since the WCU is dead (as far as EA is concerned) then I welcome any challengers that are going to try to replace WC as "The Game To Beat".

    WC Copyrights

I'm well aware of the backup policy but (and I might just be arguing policy) the case BLOAF outlined below seems different to me. Let's look at another case. Suppose I bought MS Office 95 and lost/destroyed the disk or CD key. Isn't there a difference between me using a backup CD/key as opposed...
