Another vote for Epee.. I always liked it in Wing 2. Much better than the Rapier (IMHO), extremly agile, fast, good canons, ITTS, armour? who needs armour! (OK it is useful sometimes.. :P). It's good for quick interception/short fight not for long battles with many enemies I think.

I just loved Freespace 1&2 (very good story). I am still a big fan of Independence War (Edge of chaos is really great) - it is the closest game to what I can call a space simulator. I liked the Starlancer. Freelancer was (IMHO) very dissapointing (it was a pure shooter) and I didn't like it...

I use 1850 for "cutscenes" and then I have to accelerate (with one key stroke - I set) to 3350. But I found out that the game's engine is ineffective, when more than a few fighters and say, 1 capship is on the screen the game slows down significantly :(

I currently play Wing Commander 1 under Dosbox. My question: Is there any way to set dosbox to automatically adjust speed of the game while playing (to keep optimal number of FPS)? Because I have to manually set speed of the dosbox between transitions. The game is too fast while playing...

:D :D :D Sometimes turrets can be very helpful. It`s because the Broadsword is so bad when it comes to turning. And You (usually) never know when they destroy your enemies..

Yea! I love this music too! It is the best. If You don`t like Wing 1 and 2 music then you are not a true Wing Commadners fan.
