never played Privateer 2(just got the discs off ebay so hopefully soon I'll play it) I say freetrader. I jsut replayed WC2 and maybe it's beause the freetrader was usually paladin so maybe it was scripted to be able to take more punishment but I never had to worry about it getting destroyed...

P2 as in Privateer 2? I just got it off ebay and I htink it was complete. I might be able to scan it, but I'm going on vacation tomorrow so it might be next week

I'll have to try that, that mission is annoying the crap out of me. I flew in full after burners after autopilot to the nav and still wasn't able to do much before they blew it up

depends on the mission during peace time away from any border areas probably Picard during actual war or missions near borders with potential hostile races I'd rather serve under Riker. Picard always lets the ship get shot too many times before fighting back, and in starfleet even when the shots...

for current space sims I'd recommend the various fan made WC stuff I haven't seen a good spce sim in stores in years I bought Freelancer after it hit the bargain bin a few years ago, it was pretty good although it took some getting used to flying with a mouse

vmware might be another option

for those wanting to run old OSs, get VMWare at least one version of it is free

I'll always view the movie as a retelling, like the new BSG it does nothing to disrespect the original story and stands on its own as a decent movie

oh man, SW Privateer with a nice modern graphics engine would rule give it different time periods to play in, like Sid Meier's Pirates!, and it would be really sweet. Like ep 1-3 time frame or 4-6, or way earlier like KOTOR1&2
