Star Wars thread of great justice!

You're right, I read though that during the Yuuzhan Vong invasion in the Star Wars universe that the total New Republic losses was some 345 trillion. I could be wrong, but it seems like an awful amount. As a French General remarked at the Charge of the Light Brigade (In English)...

    Fighter wing designations

Or the Hun, after the famous forces led by Attila. Another famous name was Jerry, I used to know where that came from but I've forgotten for now, I'll research it and get back to you. Yes, Tommies to know the British by, in reference to the historical figure/myth about Private Tommy...

    Fighter wing designations

Yes, you would have wondered. Yes, while the TCS Victory itself was known as 'The Round Table'. Cheers, Red Coat

Star Wars thread of great justice!

You're right. But at the same time, you'd think 1.3 million troops would be somewhat...limited for the Republic considering its size. :P Then again, I guess they would only be needed in trouble areas, and not every planet of the Republic. Cheers, Red Coat

    Fighter wing designations

Sometimes the designations, in real-life and otherwise follow a particular theme. For example, girls names (Many of the code names used in Operation 'Irene' in Somalia, 1993...aka Black Hawk Down were female names), mythology, and from personal accounts from my family in the British Army...

    Goodbye to my WC Collection...

Well I'm glad at least someone thinks of that fact. :P Aruging with a mod always seemed like a no-go because if you started to outsmart them, then that was the end of that. Cheers, Red Coat

Star Trek, and lesser SF franchises (was "Movies to see")

For me, definately DS9. I think they should have done more on the Dominion War, give DS9s characters a bit more involvement. But at the same time, they were on a space-station, and they aren't something that can blitz off to the nearest Fleet Engagement and throw their weight in. :P But what...

Star Wars thread of great justice!

Its too high, both of them. Maybe 740 million dead for the Kilrathi and 240 Million for the Confederation, but I guess if thats what the story says, thats what it says, someone really wanted to make this conflict intense! She isn't too bad with them, but I certainly see your point...

    Flight Sim Help

Magnum hit it spot on for your question on AI. Mostly, its fine, I rarely have problems, but there are those dodgey, or very easy moments. (Lets fly in a straight line while I'm shooting at you...) Loved it. Always enjoyed playing the Battle of Britain as the Royal Air Force (RAF) against...

Star Wars thread of great justice!

Still quite mind boggling, 2.1 trillion, when you think about it. But I guess if thats the story then thats the story, I wonder what Kilrathi losses would have been like. Oh dear, thats when you get a bit too serious, as you said. At the same time, they're only internet fans, nothing to...

    Movies to see

I know it might not be for the Americans or anything, but I really enjoyed Hot Fuzz, done by the same people who did Shaun of the Dead if you've seen that. Hot Fuzz was hilarious though, didn't have a thing bad to say about it. Cheers, Red Coat

Star Wars thread of great justice!

What were the casualties anyway? And the population? I got my Prophecy off a mate (For free I might add), and only got the CDs because he didn't have the manual or anything. I also agree that '3 Million Clones' seems awfully few for a large-scale conflict across hundreds of planets. Around...

    Flight Sim Help

Lock On wasn't a bad game either, tad disappointed though. And the community involvement was somewhat limited by the game itself (Not by their imaginations :P). Having said that, shooting down American jets in a Russian fighter was alot of fun, considering most games are done from the point of...

Star Wars thread of great justice!

Oh well, I do agree with you on X-Wing Alliance though. Fun...but...kind of felt left unfinished. I tell you what, I hated the mission you had to capture the Shuttle Tyderium. Then again, I was like 12/13 at the time so I guess if I went back and tried it again I'm sure I'd find it easier...
