Here's another update. In this series of pictures you can see how I inserted a ton of supporting structures to keep the model together as the build continues. Everything was getting a little lopsided so I started forcing it back into place with these cardboard struts. It's not perfect...

Here's a final picture of the flight deck, I'll be finishing up the entire hangar bay today, so I figured I'd post one last look at it before it's sealed up and hard to see.

I think I'm going to go with the black on grey nameplate, and if I put a nameplate somewhere else on the green, it'll be green on white.

I'm also trying out some new fonts for the nameplate, designation number, ect. Anybody know the name of the font used in the banner for the Wing Commander CIC website?

Kind of off topic here but I really like the new design for the Gettysburg class battleship. It's kind of evocative of the Bengal and other ships of the era, not just a carbon copy of the Exeter. It's nice to see a cool distinctive design for the ship.

Can't wait to see that Hornet...

I agree. Howie's Bengal is the best. Lets hope Mr.Day doesn't mind me canaballizing his mesh to make my model.

So far I've been using Howard Day's Bengal Mesh to cut out separate parts of the model, get them the right scale and sort of papercraft-ize...

When I was about 10 I built a crude model of the Tiger's Claw. I recently dug it out of my old stuff and was inspired to create a new way better one. It looks pretty crummy now, but here it is anyway. Don't worry, my new Bengal will be way better.:cool:
