    Vindicator II

True, it doesn't really seem to fit in perfectly but missles are pretty essential to dogfighting after you've used up all of the heavy stormfire. Killing mantas with 4 lasers is not fun

Novaya Kiev D: Rendezvous Mission in WC2

I'm stuck on the Novaya Kiev D: Rendezvous mission in WC2. I can get to the jump point without difficulty but as soon as I jump the guns on the Ralatha tears me apart. I can't seem to get away from the destroyer fast enough to escape its fire (as I'm flying a broardsword) but attacking it as...

    Comments about UE

I would agree with Aries, UE is the response of the people who found WCSO (which is more taxing than WCP) far too easy. The central problem that the more experienced players have is that the ships you spend most of your time in (generally the Vampire and Panther) are too damn good. Their gun and...

    Ships for UE2?

How about a BW corvette? The WCP manual mentions the TCS Brack although it doesn't mention what class it is (at least I can't find it, I could be wrong). The Venture class from WC1 is pretty elderly by now so it may be that Confed has replaced it with something a bit newer. As the border...

    UE easter egg

Slightly off-topic but... The Prophecy cheat at the simulator mission selector screen also works for UE

    UE easter egg

Quarto is referring to Tubular Bells, the album by Mike Oldfield. The title track of the album is indeed a lovely piece of music. In a similar vein, there is also Tubular Bells II, Tubular Bells III and Best of Tubular Bells. Overall, one of the most successful albums ever released.

    UE - not easy game

I quite liked the solution that was offered in HTL. Of course the ideas are not canon but the concept for making the cloak was quite satisfying. I'd go along with it in a UE2. Plus it could make for some pretty cool animations and cut scenes.

    Tips for mission 2A?

You can always economise the AB fuel in the Epee by using autoslide a lot. This helps a lot when you are waxing the gun turrets as well (although this is only a good idea after the missile turrets are gone). But either way, this mission is very very difficult. Survival is difficult enough but...

    Toughest Enemy Fighter in UE

The Salthi are right little buggers to be sure. The best way to deal with a massed formation of them (especially in the Gratha) is to put a suitably lare asteroid between you and them. The Salthi are fast and nimble, but their thin armour is useless against an asteroid colission. The only...

What one thing do you want to see most in UE2?

Would it be possible to make a tractor beam for SO? I think HCI has already made a patch for a leech gun so the two might go together for some mission variety.

Preacher, I don't think you're playing sim mission 7. The Princeton should be right in front of you and there is no business involving downoading of nav maps. You start near the Princeton, then you autopilot to a wrecked Fralthi II (like the one at the beginning of WCP), kill the kilrathi there...

If you mean ejected pilots then they were already presnt in WCP and SO. Tractor beams would be fun though (hint hint)

Mission 7A - Contains plot spoilers

But then the bugs are desperately stupid and their attacking of the buoys makes the mission actually possible on Nightmare. The terrible nephilim AI is made really obvious after fighting the kilrathi earlier on. Even a Dralthi is enough to make you scared, and the Gratha's habit of dropping...

    Just You Opinion

Would it be possible to cloak ships in UE? The stealth mission was fun and as there are plenty of Kilrathi around it might be possible for the BWS to get the technology (after all, they managed it in WC4 and HTL). Flying something really light (like an Arrow) in cloak for reconnisance or some...

    Just You Opinion

You could have some Retros. That'd be fun 'Deliver us o lord, for we are in need' Hehe Maybe not in UE2 if the plot is a continuation. BTW, how much work will be necessary to make UE2, especially as virtually every ship in the WC universe has been converted and the methods for making...

    Great Job Guys!

If UE is added to the canon then it will settle the very pointless debate over whether the Eisen was a Vesuvius or not :D

It might be because its the only bouy left as the Nephs fire on them too (although this is useful).

Sorry Pedro. I liked your voice over because it reminded me of an announcement made on a railway station PA system a little while ago. I'm suprised when I hear a real english accent in a game instead of the a BBC-type public school accent. Sorry if I sounded too wierd

    Post your Unknown Enemy opinions

Well, UE is the Canine's Gonads and no mistake. It is VERY difficult. I've had 2 missions out of the first 8 on which I've had to drop the difficulty down from Nightmare to Ace, which always seems like cheating to me. This game is an education on ammunition and fuel economy. The Beaufort...

Does anyone else feel a certain WC4 influence in this game? Hehe, you're a git Pedro, you know that? :D Thanks
