    autotracking problem

    It should work. But you have to aim at the ITTS indicator pretty well (Have it close to the center of the screen, not more than half a screen away, roughly). If it still doesn't work, try a Basic Repair - perhaps you have a damaged radar, that kind of damage doesn't get repaired by repairing...

    Joystick problems anyone?

    Ehm... I don't think it's possible. But I was going to do something like that for the Inertial flight: a button in the joystick would disable the compensator and switch to direct thrust mode. I will just remember that and add other bindings, like enabling "RollMode" or something like that.

    Actually, asteroid fields need some heavy work. There's no reason they should be impacting performance like that. There must be something that can be done to avoid that, have the new look/feel and still run smoothly.

    Nah... I tried that. The Centurion is still better for combat. Much more maneuverable. Although... in that configuration, the galaxy can bring down any ship in seconds. The thing is... they bring you down as quickly as well.

    Remember that the savegame is not only the file in "saves", but also the ones in "serialized_xml". Other than that, it looks like an incompatiblity. The odd thing is, it never happened during beta testing.

    It would be nice to fix that. Wouldn't it? I mean, when you attack in defense, it should hurt your reps a little less (but still hurt them). Or, better yet, make the AI flee when it's badly damaged, or hopelessly overpowered. That way you can avoid killing them.

    Well, you can hit ctrl-d (i think) to suicide yourself. If I remembered wrong, try looking for "SuicideKey" in vegastrike.config. After you suicide, you can respawn (that is, reload) without having to exit and re-enter the game.

    A few things I've noted.

    A nice solution is to rename the savegame. Then, when everything fails, and it starts a new game (I hope it does, instead of crashing, I've never tried this), then you load the renamed savegame. Of course, a better solution would be a config variable: <var name="load_last_savegame"...

    I still think that modelling with NURBS would allow fast LODding, and hence higher poly higher performance meshes. I'm not a modeller. Do people use NURBS anyhow ATM?
