Correction, with 252 ships the Midway would most certainly have 250+ pilots. If the only pilots on the Midway were the ones listed on the killboard than you would have 190 horribly expensive fighters waiting in the hangars. Furthemore, we know from the novels and the WC movie that carriers...

That's not a complete list of pilots. The Midway has over 250 pilots.

It would have a chance to destroy a planet if its defenses were actually finished (as in, there weren't any weak spots in the shields/armor), and it actually had good escorts (notice that a Ranger class carier, two old destroyers and a cruiser aren't a great escort group:)).

As far as I can see, the only advantage a torpedo has over a flash pak, is that it can actually penetrate the new shields/armor. :-)

Hm, have you ever seen the Midway next to the Behemoth or the Dreadnought? Afterburning next to ships is hardly an accurate way of measuring their lengths. And before Prophecy, the scale of ships wasn't accurate.

The Kilrathi tried to strike plenty of times, and many times rushing in the job caused their faliure... Like a certain attack in the late 2660's with some Hakaga class carriers.
