Those defiant, heroic deaths, like Eisen taking out the dreadnaught with the Victory and Angel's (and Blair's) really sum up the whole WC feeling for me. Fighting til the end.

The vids certainly came as a shock to me when I first played SWC. The look being so different to WC kinda threw me...

I've always liked the idea of flying something bigger than a fighter/bomber. But are real physics a good thing in a game? I still have nightmares about trying to fly in Frontier:eek: :D

Indeed, in the UK music charts, records that "only" reach the top ten are called poor performers in the press, based on earlier record sales. Although I'd think that 750,000 was a reasonable figure for a game to reach. It's only things like Pokemon, Mario Bros and Sonic that really sell...

Maybe it's just my PC that is anti-WC? Well, maybe the PC AND WinME?

On a similar, but slightly less incredibly fortunate note, I've managed to nab myself a copy of End Run after a good few months searching. There's something to be said for patience and persistance.

On the DOS version, I found that the game would sometimes crash when I entered the actual game sections. And everything was abit jerky. The patch cleared it up though. But this is on WinME aka Windows anti Wing Commander edition.

Because the story is unfinished. We want to know what happens next! But an early days game might be interesting, even some sort of minor conflicts, dealing with pirates and terrorists, on a small scale compared with the WC games. A lot of seperate little campaigns rather than one big...
