    Best Wing Commander Add-On

This Internet reference totally kicks that Internet reference's ass. Thousands agree! We can only hope that one day the terms used to describe video games will be standardized, and the killing will finally stop.

    Angel's Transfer

Yeah, it's a pretty compelling concept: two ships on opposite sides, similar in a lot of ways, locked together in mutual annihilation. The Lexington was almost certainly destroyed, though the war would have been lost if it hadn't laid the groundwork for the T-Bomb run. I have to wonder about...

    Jazz's loyalties.

Yeah, he's talking about the second mission of SM1, where one of your objectives is to destroy a Dorkir. I doubt that sending a pair of Hornets on a short side-mission slowed the Claw down, though, and Goddard was probably already a crater by then anyway. Jazz tells Angel that he kept...

    Evidence of Destruction.

That's a good point. It's also interesting that even after Blair clears his name at K'Tithrak Mang and Tolwyn starts acting like a human being, the idea of Blair being a traitor seems to be just under the surface. If you blow-up the Gamal Gan (the Kilrathi freighter that surrenders to you in...

    Jazz's loyalties.

Look at that shit-eating grin! If the animations were there, I bet he'd elbow Blair and go "Huh? HUH?" I agree. I think the situation with Goddard just deranged Jazz, though I expect he wasn't the most stable individual in the first place. Checking names off a list as he murders them for an...

    Shield Piercing torpedoes

Also makes you wonder where the veteran pilots like Paladin and Bossman are during the Academy episodes. Maybe they're just camera shy.

    Walking Wounded

I just finished watching through Academy, thanks to the downloads on CIC. It was really fun! I saw a couple episodes when it was on USA - that was when I found out your character's handle in the games was "Maverick" - and for the people that like the show, I'd also recommend checking out the...

    Evidence of Destruction.

Yeah, it's weird how Tolwyn was absolutely sure that Blair sold-out his carrier to the Kilrathi... then puts the guy in a fighter, where he can sell-out another carrier to the Kilrathi. There don't seem to be any particular measures in place to stop the same thing from happening to the...

Does anybody take the movie seriously?

Yeah, that was Hunter. I guess Confed improved over the Kilrathi design. Thanks for the info. I see how there could be big technical considerations in going from cloaked fighters to cloaked missiles, but those don't seem to be a factor in Confed's perception of the situation. The fleet...

    Oasis? Grovsner Colonies?

    OK, thanks!

    Worst Voice Acting

I liked the in-flight voices in WC2 and Privateer, but not most of the face-to-face conversations. That's part of why I like the disk version of Privateer (the other being that Grayson doesn't sound like he's been snorting too much Ultimate).

Does anybody take the movie seriously?

*shrugs* I don't think it even needed an explanation. I liked DS9's little in-joke about the whole thing, not the grand "here we will explain the forehead!" conspiracy from Enterprise. If you wanted an in-universe reason, though, I see why Enterprise's way would be more appealing. I don't...

    Worst Voice Acting

I think they simply wanted to go with puppets for the cats in WC4, so they ditched the costumes. "You fly like the ape that you are!" was kind of weird. I guess the opponent's implying that you're stupid like an ape, but it sounds like he thinks apes fly. Maybe the Kilrathi picked up...

    Toughest Fighters

A few Kilrathi ships are listed as carrying mines in the manual for the original game, but I'm pretty sure that none of them can actually deploy mines in the PC version. I've never seen it happen, anyway. Now in the SNES port, if you got on a Gratha's tail he'd drop mines like candy.

    Oasis? Grovsner Colonies?

Oasis was neutral, but I don't think there was ever Kilrathi and human coexistence there. In the episode, Tolwyn says that no Kilrathi have visited the planet while a Confed ship was there. The only permanent residents seem to be the native Oasians. And Michael Dorn. The only reference to the...

    Best Weapon Combo

I'll go with the Rapier II's particle/laser combo as well.

    wc3 and 4 in Vista

DOSBox works fine for me in Vista. I haven't run the DOS version of WC3, though, so I don't know what clock speed you'll need to get acceptable performance. WC4 also works in Vista, though I'm not sure offhand what combination of patches I used.

    Evidence of Destruction.

I think there was an investigation. The story of the incident as recounted in the "universe bible" hosted on the CIC says that the Claw's data recorder had been recovered, and that it showed the fighters that destroyed the ship had come from the sector Blair was patrolling. The way it looks...

    Dosbox and USB Joypad

I'm not sure. The words "Mapper file saved" should appear on the bottom, and a file called mapper.txt should appear in your DOSBox directory. Is the folder set to read-only? You could also ask on the official DOSBox forums at Vogons. Their knowledge way surpasses mine. You can copy and keep...

Does anybody take the movie seriously?

There's no problem with ships existing before the player character encounters them in-game. That makes sense, and I liked seeing Broadswords and Grikaths in the cartoon. The problem is that Tolwyn observes that the Kilrathi can make stuff invisible, then tries to cashier Blair for saying the...
