Good find, Chris. I agree that the downfall of the device certainly hurt Wing Commander. Personally, I usually just played on the keyboard but I know I was a minority (way back in the day, at least). Hopefully things can rebound though, who knows. :)

I agree with you that the losing paths are typically more challenging. Personally, I always wished some of the easier missions on the winning lines would have been made a bit more challenging.

The WC1 and WC2 themes mentioned are great choices; but some of the Privateer scores certainly come to mind. I remember several of those not merely "being good" but being THE number one mood setter for several parts of the game.

I suppose I'm an odd ball in that I always have preferred to play Space Combat Sims with my keyboard... I had a joystick back in the day, but I always preferred the keyboard. Personally, I wouldn't care what the control method was just as long as we could actually get a new PC based Wing...

I really enjoyed infoburst way back when. While I know there aren't any current game makers, producers, executives, etc. to interview, I think it would be worthwhile to start it back up and do interviews of old WC game makers or even just community members. /shrug Just my opinion. :)
