    To Kill a Hakaga...

I thought the definition of a "fly-through" deck was the sort of thing we see on Victory: openings at both ends where one can, well, "fly through."

    To Kill a Hakaga...

Well, I intended to give you arguments, but I cannot find my copy of Fleet Action. It may well have been lost a move or three ago, I fear, so I cannot select quotes from the book to point to -- and given that it's been nearly a decade since I last read FA, I will freely admit I can't recall it...

Looking for volunteers for a WCTO test game

I certainly would be willing to try it again. As for now, just keeping radio silence -- no need for the humans to hear Koraktu 1's desperate prayers to Sivar and all the other Kilrathi gods!

    Scimitar Gripes

Well, at the time, she WAS the slowest thing we could fly on Confed's side, and compared to the sleek and nimble Rapier, it just must've felt like a pig to the Confed pilots. Everything it could do, the Raptor did better, for instance -- more armor, maneuverability, speed, firepower... at least...

    To Kill a Hakaga...

Actually, Hunter didn't feel like Hunter from Freedom Flight, Kirha REALLY didn't feel like Kirha from Freedom Flight, and yes, Bear was a terribly hyperdeveloped ubermensch who seemingly can do no wrong. Actually, none of these things bothered me. It was the military sequences that didn't...

Looking for volunteers for a WCTO test game

It does, per the rulebook. If I could be tailing Tango 1, I might even let Beowulf live another turn to get me a shot at a fighter. 3 NGs will do a nice number on a Rapier, even if I only hit once of my two volleys...

    To Kill a Hakaga...

Personally, I would've liked to have seen the SUGGESTION that this tactic was even considered. Which we don't get. One of the reasons I don't like FA... in a lot of ways, it doesn't feel connected to the games. The same names, but that's about all I can say.

Looking for volunteers for a WCTO test game

Oh well. This is what I've got a rear turret for... 1. Do missiles have a turn number? I don't see anything about it in the manual, but if the Pilum is facing away from me, I'd think it'd have to burn SOME movement and fuel to come back around on me. 2. Is there a chance of me tailing...

    Epee Gripes.

Still, it billed itself as a Heavy Fighter. It was a thoroughly adequate multi-role fighter, but it never suited my style at all. I greatly preferred the other fighters to the Sabre... be it Ferret, Epee, Broadsword, and even the Rapier (though I confess once I started getting ITTS, I hated...

Looking for volunteers for a WCTO test game

Maybe it is true -- Kats DO have nine lives! So this is the end phase -- should we be submitting orders for move phase turn 2?

    Epee Gripes.

How odd. It always felt like the armor on a Sabre was kind of thin; once they knocked down the remarkably quick-to-recharge shields, it always seemed like they battered down my Sabre's armor very, very quickly...

No guts, no galaxy! (Wait, wrong game...) Ahem. "Apes! Prepare to be culled!"

Looking for volunteers for a WCTO test game

Well, we can trade e-mails and then launch our brutal and crushing attack. Depending on how things go, might I suggest a post-game wrap-up discussion?

Will no one join me on the glorious bombing run of the gods?

Looking for volunteers for a WCTO test game

Woot! (At this rate, I'm going to have my quals in every ship in the game!)

    Confed Flag Raising

Are we sure he means ten huge illustrated volumes of WC warships, and not WW2 warships?

Looking for volunteers for a WCTO test game

I would be MORE than happy to fly an Epee. I like the Missiles-with-a-man-on-it. As well, I'd be game for a medium-n-heavy matchup -- I'd love to give a Grikath a try on a bombing run, for instance.

    Why Weren't Fly-Through Flight-Decks Designed With...

An excellent question... and one we may never know the answer to, unfortunately. We can hypothesize -- was it, perhaps, not considered during the original design? Most fly-through decks we see are older ships (Yorktown or Concordia-class carriers), dating from the period when the battleship...

    PTC damage

It's a superior tactical situation for a 19th century warship, and somewhat for a 20th century one -- but the impression one strongly gets from looking at the fire patterns in WC2 is that it's actually WORSE to cross the T, and instead you want the opposition to cross YOURS. It seems like all...
