    Wing Commander Successor

The 5th game is quite recent. They aren't very old at all I don't think.

    Wing Commander Successor

Ace Combat is basically a modern aviation meets wing commander. A lot like Strike Commander I personally think, minus the small strategy elements such as purchasing equipment/ordinance/etc.

    Landreich?

The Concordia was a dreadnought and the Tiger's Claw was a strike carrier. I'm not too sure what the main role of the ranger is, but I suspect it simply didn't have the onboard fire power and arsenal that the other two carriers had. The Concordia seemed a bit like a battleship in some stages.

    Wing Commander Successor

Try these: -Strike Commander (if you never played it when it came out) -StarLancer -Ace Combat Series (console games) -X-Wing Versus Tie Fighter

    Ace Combat 5

Not in Australia. It's more like double to triple the price. Not to mention the fact the game itself will cost $80 AUD. I'm not paying ~$200 and more for 1 game. Especially when I don't have a TV to hook it up to in my room. It's just my PC. And I'm NOT going to fiddle around with the family TV...

    Mandarins

A lot of them are people that have gone mad with power and grief, among other things. A good example is the traitor in Wing Commander Academy Episode 1. While it is never stated he is a Mandarin, he IS a traitor. The Kilrathi warrior says something like "I've never met a spy before, face to...

    Ace Combat 5

Is there any way to play this game on a PC with emulation? I'm not into piracy, I don't have a PS2 but figured maybe there is someway they can played on a PC? Unless of course PS2 games don't come on a typical disc. I have no idea if they do or not.

    Watching Wing Commander 4 DVD.

Nah the movie viewer only works with the CD version. The DVD version movies are .vob files which are basically what you find on DVDs. The movie viewer only reads the .tre files. PowerDVD worked. Thanks guys.

    Fleet Battles...

Blame technology for that. There is several battles like this in Prophecy and Wing Commander 2 really tried. It's just a matter of what the game itself can physically do. Those battles did exist though.

Ultima 8: Lost Vale box uncovered

A lot of the original Wing Commander box shots looked a little different to the game.

    Military Procedure in WC

That breaks a couple laws. ;) Buy one off Amazon. That's what I did. Was fast too. They told me late November and the posty came around a week after I payed for it. It's a nice handbook. Has so much information in it. Clears up a lot of inconsistencies in the film as well. PS: I'm in Melbourne

And pretty much every other Commonwealth country. (Australia too as Dahan pointed out).

    Military Procedure in WC

Then it'd make more sense for the Space Force to NOT use Army ranks.. :/ The rank isignias would have to change a little as well. The US Army has their stripes upside down. :S

    Dating the Uniforms

Not to mention Miles talking about the officers as if he didn't know what it was like to be one in Deep Space Nine. I'm positive I remember him saying something about the academy and not all of them have to go through it.

    Weapons of the marines/army

The uniforms in that foreign cover remind me of Super Wing Commander.

    Hmmmm... Steven Spielberg and EA

What I mean is a fantastic "cinematic" experience. A bit like the experience Wing Commander 3 offered (not to mention the first couple games which had "movie like asperations". If it was a movie it'd have been a brilliant peice of work. Instead the best of the movie elements were combined into a...

    Hmmmm... Steven Spielberg and EA

First thing that came across my mind. The Dig was a highly underated game. Fantastic peice of cinematic work.

    Victory Gunnery Control

I think they're just small turrets designed for anti-fighter, anti-torp missle etc. They can be aimed manually and even if they aren't, they are controlled by those manning the stations in the gunnery area. Much like how the Tiger's Claw had the torpedo room taking care of things.

Ultima 8: Lost Vale box uncovered

Wow. $410 Aussie dollars. That's insane. And another wow if it is fake. It looks great.
