so is there someone in the wings who is gonna run w/ this?? i would really like to see what unfolds w/ it, especially in singleplayer.

after... eddie, also, i tried running the game, and it did get going, but i came up with the option of being either 'server' or 'client'. when i tried being client, it asked for me to put in an IP address, of which i didn't have someone else's address to test it, and when i tried being server...

darn skippy eddieb, you really are da man. this is the way that the used and abused wing commander community should operate. i have one of the few remaining active privateer sites that actually gets hits on the web, and i would be honored to host the files to download, with your permission...

well, you wouldn't believe some of the dumbasses that email me from my privateer page asking how to edit the crap.

i mean, though, even something as basic as what i was describing in my other post, a prog. that would copy the .tre file from the cd and modify the .cfg appropriately. that isn't system spec, and i imagine it would be easy to do.

dual boot? i get the concept: to have 2 OS on the same comp., but how would you partition it/install both/switch between OSs? i guess i should read up on that.

why doesn't one of you genii out there (i am not one, btw), who knows how to get/modify the system components on different platforms make a PROGRAM that could create a bootdisk for you!? i do have a privateer site (one of few left alive) that does try to help w/ the problem of getting it to run...

well i don't think as many people go over and check the tech section as much as the general section.

how exactly do you go about getting privateer to run in windows 2000? it doesn't have a dos mode, and i have never been able to run privateer with a boot disk or anything, only by copying the .tre files and modifying the .cfg, which won't work in windows 2000. any help?

was chris roberts in only on freelancer or was he also in on starlancer? i think even as they move back freelancer's release date, they have to be tweaking it up a bit or something... maybe improving mulitplayer or something.

you know, i think a much better way than a petition to get a WC game going is to buy Freelancer/Starlancer, and it would show EA and Microsoft that space sims are still a viable genre of games to be made...

about this petition... i think it's something that we could and should do. but there has to be some way to make sure that each vote is unique... like what if some crazed member of our upstanding board voted like a 1000 times for a new Privateer/WC game? we just need to stop being so...

i think EA is avoiding the question. this is the second time a person that i sent an email to referred me to a different email address to write to. i dunno...

in defense of the "playstation generation" (i guess i'm part of it seeing i'm 16), i'd like you to know that some of us can appreciate quality, plot-involving games. some of those games on playstation though... ugh.
