Small update on the WC album.

Today, I got the following message on IRC

[19:38] ChrisReid: hey
[19:38] ChrisReid: you talked to fatman lately?
[19:38] LeHah: Me? Can't say I have
[19:38] ChrisReid: he only talks to you
[19:38] ChrisReid: been a while since we heard about the album

So here I am asking for a status update on the WC album!

Cheers!

Linda Law: Yeah. I know. Sorry. Paid gigs keep taking up the time that creating this CD would. Right now it's looking like it will take about two more months. Thanks so much for being patient. It really WILL happen.

Sincerely,
Linda

Is there anything we can do to help? I understand that work is work - I'm at my job pushing papers as we speak - but if theres anything we can do to help, just ask. We're all really immensely appreciative that you're all so forthcoming and supportive with the Wing Commander fanbase.

Linda Law: Thank you so much. We really will get this done. I wish there were a way for you to help, but right now the bottleneck is at the composer level. We need George and David to have enough spare time to finish the project. The jewel case artwork is pretty much complete. We just need to get the music orchestration, mixing, and mastering finished. And we're not nearly wealthy enough (I like to refer to us as guests on "Lifestyles of the Poor and Famous") to turn down paying music gigs to finish the Wing CD, even though this CD project is near and dear to our hearts. Thanks again for your patience.

George? As in Oldziey? I didnt know he was involved! Would be great to hear his music redone. Yeehaw.

She meant George "Fatman" Sanger. Sadly, Oldziey's hands are tied because of the contract he signed when he was with EA, as the company owns all the music produced for WC3 and on.

As I understand it, WC1 is owned solely by it's composers and WC2 is in a state of half-and-half and would be too messy an affair to "buy out" selling rights from EA.
