When You Order Everything on the Menu (February 2, 2024)

I was first introduced to Wing Commander in 1992, when a High School friend sold me this exact entire pack (WC1, SM1+2, WC2, SO1+2, and the speech pack) for $50 flat. (He'd bought the whole thing, liked it, but then moved on to X-Wing). Other than the boxes being a little flattened, everything was in perfect condition. (I think I still have it all, but I'm highly doubtful the 3.5" floppies still work...)

Probably one of the best video game purchases of my life!

Of course, it would be about two more years before I could afford a computer and the necessary accessories to actually play it with all the features working right. (I used to wonder what the big deal everyone made about Kurusawa 2 was... when you're running the game on a 386, it's like your the Flash, or playing in "focus mode", and everyone else is moving in slow motion! Even that mission was fairly easy! Maybe it's just a way of modeling Bluehair's reflexes being *that* good...)
