What the heck?

Don't take any offense to this...

I just have seen a lot of it lately, but double-posting like that is kinda silly. Allow me to direct your attention to the Edit button above your post. Third from the left :)

People aren't allowed to delete threads they start because then they'd delete them when they went off topic. That would stop a large amount of conversation.

People aren't allowed to edit their own posts after a certain amount of time or delete their posts because it after a while, the only real reason to edit or delete a post is to deny you ever said anything. Everyone's given enough time to edit their posts so they can fix spelling errors and stupid mistakes.

Sure, we'll let you delete your own threads. Who cares if everyone who posted in it sees their postcount lowered because you felt the need to nuke a thread. And it's okay if you delete a thread that someone might have found interesting or useful one day. Yeah, I think I'll just go over to the Admin thing right now and enable that option.

very funny...

I'm sorry, I should of put, "why can't we delete our own POSTS".

Perhaps you could look at it this way, its a way to give the person posting a reason to think about what he/she is typing before posting! :)
