Hello. I need help. I installed the GOG version of WCP on Windows 11, then copied the OpenGL pack and the DVD movies to the Movies folder. But the HD movies aren't displayed, and the game crashes. I installed everything according to the following instructions:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Install WCP and SO from gog
Install K-lite Codec Pack (This fixes so many problems with so many old DVD games so I install it anyways. If its your first time installing this pack, then open Codec Tweak Tool, click preferred decoders bottom left, and select Microsoft for H264 for both 32 and 64 bit versions)
Install OpenGL-WCP_setup(TEST-MUP)-RELEASE-CANDIDATE.exe
Select 1080p and windowed mode
Unzip Panther patch to both the WCP and SO directories
Unzip WCP Patch from post #37 from the Complete WC GOG fixes and tweaks thread to the WCP directory
Create a folder called "movie" in your WCP directory
Unzip WCP HD pack 4.0 from this thread to the move directory.
Rename *.mp4 to *.vob (I recommend power rename, part of Microsoft PowerToys)
If you want to remove the window borders, I recommend Borderless Gaming. A very handy tool for some older games on modern systems too.

Without the wcphr.dll, the game works perfectly, and the original videos play. What else can I try to prevent the game from crashing and to get it to work with HD videos? Is there another wcphr.dll that might work?

Did you grab the latest DLL?

I think this is it:

The only thing to watch out for is that you have to set the resolution to be the same as your monitors native resolution.

It’s been a while but wasn’t wcphr.dll tied to HCls old HD pack?

I meant to put it into a more recent pack but then ended up making a replacement DLL and now apparently there’s a new one coming from someone else so I guess I won’t be, you might wanna wait on that.

I've adjusted my monitor's resolution. I can't say whether the wcphr.dll is the latest version. It's the version from the WCP patch in post #37, as described in the instructions above. I believe the wcphr.dll is from 2013. Is there a newer version?

Ahh I believe that patch isn't needed at all - but yeah I just tested and I can no longer get the OpenGL patch to work with the HD videos.
The HD videos were all HCl, and one of the reasons I was replacing the DVD playback with the code from the WC4 remake was that whilst he released the WC4 code which I've edited before he never released the WCP patch (and creating a new window for every movie isn't ideal in any case). Probably not the response you want but I'd suggest waiting, I'm not going to look into fixing the old one now if a replacement is on the way.
