WC4 Under Windows 2000

I was wondering if anyone has had any success running Wing Commander IV (CD-ROM version) under Windows 2000. I've already applied the Windows 95 upgrade and set the game to Windows 95 compatibility mode, yet it always crashes with a "VirtualProtect() failed" error upon starting the program. The DOS version actually will run (with the help of VDMS), but the resolution is stuck at 320x240 due to the limited VESA support. Well, if anyone knows anything about this, please reply.

I got it running under WindowsXP Pro under Windows95 compatibility mode...

Have you tried other compatibilty settings? Try Windows98, or even try it without any compatibility modes on...If that doesn't help, then I'm sure there's someone else here that can help.

Went through 95, 98, even NT 4.0 and without compatibility mode. The game runs fine under Windows XP, so it seems to be specific to Windows 2000.
