WC4 Graphics

It's not his fault - I have a very hard time telling the difference on this laptop... it seems to have to do with the brightness of the monitor.

It is there, though!

I can see the difference but I have to say that WC4 had the worst target displays. I found the shield damage not to be very intuitive and that the armour turned black (on your ship) when it was gone wasn't particularily clever either I think, with the black background. It was visible but not very well or nice.

Best ones, in my opinion, are the ones with circles (WC1/2, Armada) or lines (WCP).

And I think WC2 ships still look gorgeous, it's so bright and cheerful while maintaining a futuristic or alien feel.

When i said that ships looked better in wc 1/2 i meant design-wise not in the in game graphics sense. Always liked those sequences with ships landing, they looked beautiful(im talking bout wc2 mostly).

That's LCD's fault.

CRTs do a much better job of displaying the subtle shade differences.
I can see them fine, in this ole trusty 17" CRT.

It depends on the LCD too. I've got a couple of pretty new LCDs here, and they show the shades even better than my older CRTs.

When I first checked this message on a lousy LCD I couldn't tell the difference, but on this nicer LCD now I can. Interesting. :)
