I agree with christ too...

What a coincidence, so do I! However, on the subject of this thread, I agree with Chris.

I voted for a new game with new content. Not because I wouldn't love to see the older games revisited with updated graphics and want not but because I think our best chances to see another Wing Commander title is as a new title with new content. Right now, I'm all about that next step in the WC development.

true, new content is good, but we also have to support ppl that want to "remake", "reenhace" or "recreate" wc1, wc2, wc3 or wc4 even if they are on another engine.
we don't know if they might come with some great surprices

Has anyone played X-Wing 95? (Part of the X-Wing Collector's Series which also includes TIE Fighter 95 and X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter Flight School.)

It is precisely the same as the original X-Wing, with graphics and sound updated to X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter quality, bonus missions, and the option to either play all missions exactly as they were in the original, or to make the insanely difficult ones more balanced.

Why can't we have Wing Commander 1 & 2 with updated graphics and sound AND new content in the newest game engine AND still play the originals? If we are expanding the poll, let's include that option.

Why not just make a new game instead of re-releasing the game again?

X-wing and Tie fighter were more easy to update, since the xwing vs tie fighter engine is nothing more then an enhanced version of the original xwing engine and later the tie fighter engine(xwing and TIE fighter both had another upgrade in a previous installment and re-released as "deluxe CD-rom" versions), they simply update the engine and re-release it(bit of a money maker, you are just paying full
product price for a (for them) relatively simple upgrade)

Wing commander 1&2, 3&4 and prophecy&SO use different engines, making the
best look of current technology(wing commander 1 and 2 looked superior to x-wing,
wing commander 3 outclassed tie-fighter, etc.

wing commander would have to start from scratch, sure the original designs would
be somewhere on the EA shelves , but you would need a completely new game engine, voice actors or even FMV actors, it would be a lot more expensive.

Nobody's telling people who are actually involved in that stuff to stop, but many years of people trying have given us some very predictable outcomes. We're trying to help people who have free time and want to do something but haven't been around since 1998 to learn from our history.

AND is should include lots of cake and apple pie, AND they should pay me to play it.
