WC IV PC version vs the Playstation Version

I was just wondering if there are any differences to the missions, story, or the video scenes between the WC IV game for the PC and the one for the Playstation? I currently have the playstation version, and i have been thinking about looking for the PC version.

IIRC, there's still no planetary surface missions in the Playstation version, and you can only fly the Speradon missions, there's no choice to go to Circe.

That's all I can remember right now.

Then get the PC version. It seems that most people who played both think the PC is much better.

I've only played the PSX version, but would like to get the PC, to make my WC Collection more complete

Here's what I can think of:
* No 'Circe' series. You automatically choose the Speradon missions and collect new weapons.
* No ground missions. The three Tyr-series ground combat missions are replaced with space missions with the same objectives. You fly to one to three (depending on the mission) space labs to locate & rescue Dr. Brody. Instead of being defended by Vindicators, they're defended by Banshees.
* Color comm VDUs, a la Wing Commander Prophecy or Wing Commander 3 3DO.
* Minor cut scenes removed for space (PSX WC4 shipped on four CDs instead of six).
* Different names in the 'generic' pilot database. Go figure.

Tried the PSX version once...

of course the controls feel a bit ankward (never had the knack to master the PSX controller)... and flight simulation graphics were lower than PC's SVGA.

I think I can still search around for some leftover pirated copies at the software pirate center in Jakarta.

But I do not own a PSX... and I don't actually like pirated softwares.

Using a normal controller is confusing as heck for WCIV... however:

The huge one with the two sticks is what you should look for -- WCIVPSX has a special layout for it... feels *very* natural.

I remember that stick! Probably rare as hell nowadays. I still have one of the old official Analog pads that Sony came out with a few scant months before the introduction of the Dual Shock controller. The cool thing about the plain Analog pad was that it had a third mode which emulated that very stick. :) (a feature the DS does not have) It was slightly larger than the Dual Shock and had concave sticks rather than convex ones and also had no rumble feature.

Once again, LOAF does it. Very amazing. Or scary. Not sure yet.
