WC GoG VS Kilrathi Saga

Hi Im sorry if this has been addressed before but I couldn't find it in searches.

I have the Kilrathi Saga and WC 4 DVD, I was wondering if theirs any reason to get the GoG releases. Do they run better on modern computers or am I better off with what I have?

Short answer would be no. But who knows if you will be able to run them on Windows 13, so best buy them while they cheap on gog and keep them updated to run on New OS.

I also own the Kilrathi Saga, wing commander DVD and Dos Versions of Wing commander 1-4.

I just bought WC 3+4 from GOG recently for the same purpose. It is always good to have multiple versions of the games for backup. not just for windows 13, but also if you experience problems with you current disks of the game etc.

besides, right now the games are pretty cheap and you get all the bonuses on top. so just buy them and show your support for the games and GOG. This way, we might get further wc titles from GOG, like prophecy DVD ;)

Altough I haven't bought WC 1+2 from GOG yet, since the add ons are not included.
 
Apparently they are up now. They won't be highlighted until tomorrow. (It was delayed for some reason) So if you go download the game again, it will have the addons in there.
 
Yup, they are live. For WC:SM2 you run from separate launcher, and has remnants of its old anti piracy check which has been modified for easy bypass :). SO1&2 have their own launchers for WC2. Anyone know how to carry over your save game into WC SM1 and 2?

There should be an option in the WC1/SM1 launcher to move a character over, if I'm remembering correctly (or was it a separate app?)

Just looking through the SM1 Reference Card, there is a separate transfer program. Though anyone wanting to use it will have to configure to run under DOSBOX.
