WC 1 fighter designation

Why do the designations for the fighters from WC 1 differ between the "ships database" page and the Fleet Tactics page? For example, on the "ships database" the Hornet Light Fighter is designated the F-32 while on Fleet tactics it is the F-36G. The Scimitar is the CF-105 in the ships database and the F-32D on the Fleet Tactics website.

The only WC1 fighters with canon designations are the F-44 Rapier II (from the WC2 manual) and the CF-105 Scimitar (from the Confederation Handbook). A lot of sites take designations from the WC Bible I posted a while back, which is where F-32 and F-36 and such come from.

I went by the Bible, it said Hornet was F-36. I also went by -32 for Scimitar (the movie handbook but said CF-105). I said in a previous post (search button is your best friend) that I'm not getting involved in any game/movie arguments and hence I defaulted to F-32 as seen in the bible.

Ok, I wasn't trying to start an arguement, I was just curious because I am trying to write a story and I was using the F-32 designation for the Scimitar but then I noticed that the ships database had the CF-105. I'll probably keep it as the F-32 just because I like it better. The CF makes me think of Canadian Forces fighter aircraft like the CF-100 and the CF-18 Hornet.

I would have thought that the CF-105 would make you think of the... CF-105

To address the month old thread:

Picking one over the other *is* addressing the game/movie argument, but not in the right way.
