Greek Special Forces B' Company "Naoussa" 2007-200
Hi again guys...

Lets go back to Wc3...Just before Prince Trakkath`s Message (to activate the triger of Hobbes) they did something to TCSVictory and they deactivated all the Victorys sensors, radars, etc.Or maybe they just made them dont work properly so they could send the message......

If it was so easy for them to do that whenever they wanted and they could have destroyed the Victory whenever they wanted....

(Radio Rollins was very worried when that happened and seemed helpless);)

The point was that they *didn't* want to destroy the Victory. They go into a bit more detail in that in the novel... Thrakhath was protecting the Victory because he needed Hobbes to report details on the Behemoth. He had one of his officers executed for trying to kill Hobbes during a battle...

I havent the Novel LOAF but I thought of the fact that they didnt want to destroy the Victory....cause of Hobbes but...

What about the Victory`s crew ? Why didnt they (I dont know the exact word) emmmm considered why they Kilrathi didnt destroy them..when they had the chance..?

(I dont know if you understand what Im saying......)

Also with such Tech the Kilrathi could destroy other confed ships (not importand to them) any time....

War is vague, and things that make absolutely no sense happen all the time. If the enemy blows a golden opportunity to destroy you, it could be because they'd prefer to keep you alive, but it could also mean any myriad of other things. Perhaps they were spooked by something else, and thought their forces were needed elsewhere. Perhaps they were low on supplies.
In short, when you get a lucky break like that, you'll probably wonder why it happened, but not stop too long to question the reasons for it.

The crew of the Victory thought the Kilrathi *were* trying to attack them -- there was a scramble mission right after the 'broadcast'...

THOUGHT they were trying to attack us? I distinctly remember a bunch of fighters and a few bombers going after the Victory. And that if you sat back and didn't do anything, they would toast the ship. Or was I hallucinating again? Or was that when Flash came on board? HMMmmmm...... I think it's time to play WING COMMANDER 3 again!:D

There is a difference between launching an all out attack against a target, and launching just enough fighters to spook the target. Star Wars has a good example of this during the escape from the Death Star. You want to let your opposition get away, but you don't want to make it look too easy. So you send enough strength to force them to sit up and take notice, but not enough to actually get through a determined defense.

i still think that's one of the best scene's in WC3... it just shows the power of the Kilrathi over the humans... plus i always loved hear the words "heart of the tiger" for the first time.

LOAF it depends if there is a scramble attack afterwards....

What Im saying is why Terrans didnt think about why the Kilrathi De-ativated all the jamming AND THEN ATTACK ??

As I said I know of course that the Kilrathi didnt want to harm the victory but why the Terrans wasnt suspicious about that???

They had the chance (the KILRATHI) but they didnt destroy it

Well TigersClaw, as I understand it (though I could be wrong, it's been a while since the last WC3 session), the Kilrathi didn't deactivate it. The Victory crew managed to overcome the jamming. Which should also explain to you why the Kilrathi don't do this more often - they probably do, just without much success.

I recently went through WC3, and I clearly remember Thrakhath 'signing off' with "I leave you know to contemplate your miserable destiny" or something to that effect, at which point the 'jamming' stopped. As for the subsequent attack (which I don't remember as clearly)... Iffy synching, perhaps? :)

Originally said by Ripper:
At any rate, the point of the whole thing was to activate Hobbes.

Rollins was left to fix the damage the worm caused after The Crown Prince signed off.

Why did they cut Hobbes holo-vid scene from WC3 DOS? It was one of the most important things in the game. They could have made room for it by erasing that stupid elevator scene.

Ah, but the elevator is also very important. It shows that you're on an elevator and that's why the doors keep opening at different places. Otherwise you'd think it was just some sort of magic door that opened into different places without moving.

Im sure that the "worm" deactivated after the message was over....OR it was a COINSIDENCE:when the message ends,Rollins manages to "kill" the worm.......

I dont believe in coinsidences.... :)

WC3 is probably the game I haven't played for the longest time, so I don't remember it that well, but did the worm really pull down the Victory's defences and sensors? All I remember is that the Kilrathi jammed them hard enough to send Thrakhath's message, but not much else. Hence it all came down to just "hot air".

Not the Defences. Its seems that it jammed all the Radar equipment and who knows what else.Every monitor in the Victory`s bridge was showing Thrakkaths face!
