Tolwyn's Stars

We also must remeber that perhaps in WC3 tolwyn was a full admiral, he just took the title and rank of rear admiral to fit the job description but as soon as that was over he returned to his correct rank

I thought Tolwyn was a full admiral from Fleet Action up until his death (Well, I guess he was a Space Marshal at his death, but whatever...).

After the High Command was wiped out, Tolwyn was put in charge of the military (or at least the Fleet, I think Grecko was in charge of everything before... well, we know what happened to him), IIRC. I would assume he held that rank, unless it was merely a brevet one.

And if this has been mentioned... Sorry, I've just been skimming the posts lately. ;)

According to the WC3 novel Tolwyn is Rear Admiral at that time.
Nap, I am afraid I did not understand what you meant. To fit which job description?

I think he took a hit in rank in False Colors...you know, stuff about an admiral commanding a single-ship battle group :)

Tolwyn didn't initiate the Behemoth project -- he simply took it over from someone else (Ubarov?).

That makes more sense. Do we know what rank the guy had he took it over from? Because leading such a large project as Rear Admiral still seems a bit strange. But again, I am not familiar with rank responsibilities...

No, we don't know his rank.

Still, Tolwyn's *rank* is insignificant -- since Confed high command *knows* that he's been trusted with the duties of a full Admiral in the past.
