Tidbit regarding missiles

On one of the FMVs in Wing Commander 3 (specifically the one with Rachel that occurs right before the first mission), two of the missiles are given designations:

HS: RIM-15
FoF: RIM-31

So these are apparently the designations given to these two missiles. Has anybody else found any other courses for these labels?

FYI RIM stands for Radar Intercept Missile, at least with current usage. Don't know how well it fits in the WC universe, though.

Interestingly enough, the RIM designation have been only been used for surface- or ship-based missiles

I think it's "AIM" and not "RIM".

Hmm...it looked like an R, but AIM actually makes a lot more sense.
