The Mantu are good fighters and were, for some time, a potential plot thing for WCP. Nice note on the manual.
You can also explore another races, like the Mopoks. Those guy can defeat Kilrathi marines with wooden weapons, like big, hairless ewoks.
It would be kindof cool to make an alliance with the Mantu, to fight the ever spreading Nephilim . 5 years later (enough time to bring the black versions of the Prophecy fighters online - or longer if they want to have new fighters in Confeds arsenal) and The Mantu have been fighting the Neph on their front ever since they left the Kilrathi and have them at a standstill, but Confed and Kilrathi have been losing its side. The Mantu realize if the Nephilim wipe out the Confed and Kilrathi, they will have to fight a war on 2 fronts. Therefore they make an alliance with the Confed, Kilrathi, and Border Worlds? to take on the Nephilim. Be kindof interesting to make a game out of it, but alas, to many fan projects already. If you set it 5 years into the future, you could use the black versions of the fighters in Prophecy, bring all the Kilrathi stuff out of Mothballs and out of warlords hands (False Colors-esque), design new stuff for the Nephilim and make up stuff for the Mantu. Be even more challanging if you set it farther into the future, all new ships for everyone

I really dont think that would work out
If I remember right, one of the few things that we know about the mantu is that they are very xenophobical and territorialistic, which basically was what got the kats and them at war
Now, if I remember correctly, there was some notion that the wcp storyarc would lead to an alliance of three alien species fighting humans and kilrathi, and that the nephilium were just one of those 3, possibly even just the lowest kind
I imagined them as the ground troops that are cheap and easy to produce, and also easy to control, so they were sent to flatten the enemies. As they failled (twice), the other more powerful members of this alliance would come forth to deal with those pesky humans who dared to not just roll over and die
Now, about the other species, I see delance has some kind of hate towards them
The Double Helix could be an interesting idea, if played right. There is nearly no information on them, but the simple fact that someone can have his brains fried by trying to communicate with them make it all interesting already
Now the mopoks, well, cmon, they didnt do it all by themselves...
and, if you want to compare them with ewoks, well, the ewoks have beaten stormtroopers with rocks
Considering there arent that many kilrathi soldiers in that "meanwhile" scene, and what you do to get to that point, It would be easy to imagine those were the few soldiers who remained on the planet, without support. Considering the Mopoks are hunters who live in that planet, they can easily capture some kilrathi with traps and ambushes

I just found a confirmed picture of the Mantu. This is the first time we have seen the Mantu as a species. And not just one Mantu, but multiple Mantu. I'm posting it here for all to see.
