As part of our 15th anniversary slate, we rolled out an updated Holovids video archive. We've now converted one set of movies that was missing on August 10: the VHS quality Privateer 2 cinematics have been converted to modern streamable formats (H.264 and WebM) so that they can be watched from any current browser on desktop or mobile. The VHS tape contained nearly all the full motion video from the game and looks a lot sharper than the highly compressed video that shipped with the game. In the clip below, you see Bill Maddox (Bob Goody) ask Ser Arris (Clive Owen) to escort some precious cargo from Bex to Anhur. Check the rest of the scenes out here. The story and screenplay for Privateer 2's outlandish movie clips were written by noted scifi and fantasy author Diane Duane.
