Terran Confederation Handbook

Mekt-Hakkikt

Mpanty's bane
As this THC is unavailable here in Germany (or I am too stupid to get it) I'd like to ask some things about it.
Is it a book after the movie or is it a game and movie supplement? Is it worth to order it from the States?
...Hmm, as it is a WC related product I guess it is worth to do it.

Hi

The THC is pretty much all movie related.

It`s not too bad unless you hate the movie. (The book also goes black & white halfway through instead of full colour

If you can get hold of someone else`s first, I`d have a look at it, but if not, I`d ask for general opinions from the WC fans round here.

Cheers

It does give you a complete timeline for the Pilgrim war,and alot about the Kilrathi war. Huge section on Jump drive technology, and other drives that predates it like the Hopper drive. Section describing all of the Marine equipment. Pilot profiles for the Claw. Lots more good stuff.

It was based on the movie, but it's not a story at all -- it's just general information about the WC universe (like an RPG supplement).

It's a very nice book, Chris McCubbin did an excellent job on it. Worth owning, regardless of your feelings towards the movie.

i totally agree, i'm sure you can find it in germany, i found mine in amsterdam.

i could buy one for you if you really can't find one...

Thank you guys. And thanks Twister but if you found one in Amsterdam I'll keep searching for some time on. In what kind of shop did you buy it?

well i'll have to mention that it was a special book store (named; The American Book Center) but i'm sure they have those kinda shops in germany too.

Good to hear that... at least not all went wrong... :)

When the Confederation Handbook came out, I ordered it from Barnes and Noble... but they didn't get it in stock the day they claimed, so I called every single bookstore in the area -- and ended up finding one copy at like 7 at night at a little independant store in downtown Washington DC. So I rushed out late at night to get a copy before they closed, and had to go through this big crowd of people who were trying to see the president who was apparently somewhere near the bookstore I was trying to get to.

Try to find a better price on that or find the book itself, Here the book have never show its cover, besides wait a few years and sell it on E-Bay for twice the price.

Sticker price is $19.95 US or $29.95 Canadian. Anything below that is what is called "A good price"

It's probably easier for you to get it at Chapters though... they do free shipping within Canada (at least if you order it within a store... I don't know if they do through Chapters.ca) and they do indeed have it.

Yeah I know... I wondered what this "free shipping" was (I thought there was a catch somewhere)...

But I guess that I can order it through a store... rue St.Catherine is not so far from where I live after all... a mere 20 minute walk in a -20ºC atmosphere... :)

Thanks again for the "where-to-buy" information. Actually this is where I stumbled over it: I searched Amazon for products with the name "Wing Commander" in it. Well, if I do not find it here in my regular book stores I now know where to get it.
