SWC Gratha

I was checkin out my 3DO again and started playing some SWC. As I started the simulator, I remembered just how cheap the Gratha were. For instance, I was 'burning after one, then it just turned and fired like it was autosliding! I will admit, when against 3+ Gratha or Rapiers (in the Gwenhyvar mission), I am humbled before their might. Anybody that has played SWC for more than a few months have any suggestions for winning strategies? Or are there any at all? I have actually NEVER beaten the sim in this one!

Thanks Starkey.

Super Wing Commander was also for the Super Nintendo (SNES)

No, it wasn't. The SNES WC1 and WC1: Secret Missions 1 were more adaptations of the PC version than anything. This can be seen in the models used, and the cockpits. I've also owned both. :D

Super Wing Commander, for the 3D0, was effectively a rework of WC in using new models, introducing the callsign 'Maverick' into use, and new cinematics. This version only appeared on the 3D0 and the Macintosh, IIRC.

I seem to recall something about the callsign being Phoenix, not Maverick... I may be wrong.

Phoenix, with his brief mention in End Run, was probably intended by the author to be Blair.

Actually, I was just playing it, and Armstrong's callsign is Maverick. Still need some advice on the Gratha !

OH AND TopGun.......!! Be sure to look in second-hand gaming console shops like Mauck's, Vintage Stock, and Game Xchange for a 3DO. Ebay also has them. The voices and music stunk for the game, but otherwise it was pretty neat (for its time though, it was DA BOMB!).
