Surprising moments

Yeah, I disliked Flint alot. She was always either telling you how to do your job or whining about something. Cobra was kinda annoying too. I jumped for joy when she was lying there on the Flight Deck.

Oh, wait, I remember something that sorta surprised me.

It was a boring Sunday afternoon a little over two years ago. I think was watching some Arnold Schwarzenegger (or however the hell you spell his name) movie when I saw a commerical for the WC movie. Now, before this, all I knew about the movie was that Prinze and Lillard were in it. Hell, I didn't even know they were playing Blair and Maniac.

So, yes, that kind of suprised me.

And then some unknown Lieutenant comes and teases MY Colonel Hobbes for no reason.
Hmm... I think Hobbes is big enough to fight his own battles. But then, it's obvious you're very attached to the guy...

You defend your friends, don't you. And I considered Hobbes to be Blair's best friend (except Paladin perhaps).
I found it very surprising that a Lieutenant could speak to Colonel in such a way. And as I (i.e. Blair) was her superior, I found it my duty to teach her some respect before the higher ranks.

(Sorry, I double-posted, so I broke the original post in two parts)

Well... put yourselves in the shoes of Cobra (hard for you Mekt, I know... :p )... if you so utterly hated the cats.. what would your reaction be, if one of them was on the flight roster, mmhhh? :)

Well, put yourself in the shoes of Colonel Blair (not that hard <g>): If you see how one low-ranking officer harasses your second-in-command for personal reasons only, how would you react? It's not good for dicipline when Lts have the right to insult Colonels with no punishment.

To be fair, Cobra's reaction was highly unprofessional. Perhaps justified, in her mind, but still unprofessional. Blair should have done to Cobra what Angel did to him - tell her off, and send her out on a patrol with Hobbes. But then again, Blair should have also threatened some people with a Court-Martial when they refuse to fly with him or service his fighter...

So with that combination of cutscenes I got, I was genuinly suprised when Eisen ran off, then almost angry at him for attacking the Lexington later on. (Like I said, by then Seether was being quite the anus, but you can't say Confed is going to hell because of one bad apple)

No, but when a military officer can murder a prisoner of war in cold blood, *in front of witnesses*, and not get thrown in the brig immediately, a few alarm bells about the whole system should start ringing.

I think he realised he was on rather thin ice himself. Confed might have taken exception to a Colonel sleeping with a junior pilot or an enlisted woman. :D

I meant thin ice in regards to the Flint/Rachel situation. He couldn't have done anything formal about it without facing some awkward questions himself. :)

It shouldn't matter what your reaction would be. You should still control yourself.

Yes, you should. But if you Utterly Hate the Kilrathi (theey killed her family, remember?), that can be...difficult, to say the least.
