Super Wing Commander on WinXP/Me/98

I have purchased Super Wing Commander (Mac) out of curiosity and willing to find out if it is possible to run the game on WinXP. And, in fact, it is possible. Here is the proof. ;)

Of course, there are certain drawbacks: some work is required in order to run the game with music and joystick support. Also: on modern computers the game runs to fast. A slow down software is required. And last thing: you have to own a Mac, 'cause you need a mac rom to run the emulator.

I've been running SWC in windows and linux for ages, btw you don't need a cpu slowdown app, when you're running SWC try changing the ingame screensize, not the emulator screensize, what i've found is making the screen bigger usually slows down the emulation by a lot, making it use the highest setting and it'll run slow even on an athlon xp 2600.

Has anyone gotten WC3 and WC4 Mac to work on a PC? I'd certainly like to ditch the Macintosh from my WC Computer setup.

That looks awesome!

Well, except for that tub that is labeled as the claw. lol Are there any emulators that don't require owning a Mac?

Why ditch the mac? Mine sits happily next to my Windoze game box...the mac is for all the really productive work

Well, I wouldn't throw it away - I'd turn it into some kind of server or somesuch somewhere else in the house. I just want to decomplicate the WC machine setup as much as possible.

You've never seen that ship labeled as the Claw before? :(

I've never seen any screenies from SWC before. To me, the Claw is, and always has been what is in WC1 and SM1&2 (and WC2 as well technically).

I like that look (the original). Anything else being labled as that ship would not be appealing to me. I tend to be a purist really. lol Adding detail and refining the model is cool, but, changing it totally is not. To me at least.

wing commander 3.4 if they require a powerpc processor will NOT run on x86 hardwaare (aka your pc) there is no powerpc emulator in existence for x86, therre are soome cpu emulators, but nothing advanced enough to run anything newer than macos 8.1.

The Claw is like Blair. How many engines for the Claw? What's Blair height and hair color? Don't think about those things. :)
