StarSoldier as a WC source?

Aeronautico

Rear Admiral
From what I have seen, StarSoldier from WC Arena is being accepted as canonical in the WC universe. Does that mean it will be accepted if one were to insert its information in the WC Encyclopedia? I hope so. This is the kind of expansion I like to see!

Of course, I wait for an answer before I try anything.

Absolutely, Star Soldier is an official WC game manual published by Electronic Arts, just like Claw Marks, Victory Streak or Voices of War.

Yes, Star*Soldier is considered canon and thereby admissible.

It's more the fact that S*S adds and expands on several existing things as well as adding new stuff. Check this S*S reference thread as well as the series of front page updates that one of the Arena producers did that breaks down the references even further. Do a front page search for Star*Soldier and they should pop up.

S*S was definitely a good read, but I preferred the KS manual.

KS is just a reprint of the original manuals with some extras thrown in. A great read certainly, but compared to the nature and breadth of S*S I'm not sure I'd put it ahead.

ClawMarks on its own is a fantastic manual, along with VictoryStreak.

My favorite is Claw Marks; it has a number of things going for it. It really set the tone for the original game, it had a gallon and a half of wonderfully unique original artwork, it invented the concept in the first place... it was a very cool production that set a standard everything else can only try to live up to.

Star*Soldier is a tribute and it gets hung up on a lot of "our" interests instead of doing anything especially unique. I wouldn't put it in the same category as booklets Origin's creative team put out.
