Of the Wing Commander CIC's new monthly Wing Commander chat session.

We are going to be holding monthly Wing Commander meetings on the CIC IRC channel #wingnut. The time of the meeting each month will be rotated to give our international Wingnuts a chance to participate. This meeting will be held at 1 pm EDT, which converts to 7 pm in Berlin. Next month we will move the time to accommodate our Asian and Australian wingnuts.

The last meeting was a huge success. All those who attended had a great time and learned quite a bit about the future of Wing Commander. This meeting our topics will change a bit, but there's still a lot of juicy intel for those who are interested.

So mark your calenders for October 22 at 1 pm EDT (7 pm Berlin) and stop by #Wingnut! We look forward to chatting with you all!

I'd participate if they'd ever get the Java chat client fixed. It's been broken since the forum change.
 
You used to be able to hit the IRC button from within the CZ and it would log you in with your CZ user name... Not sure that works anymore. You should be able to use the Java chat from the front page though. You just need to input your user name yourself.
 
Before you guys start up the next round..

what happened to the idea of a summary from the last chatround for all of our community who could not participate? I would appreciate a brief summary of all discussed events and conclusions.
 
Sorry about that--I've had a half-finished summary in my update buffer forever. I'll finish it up soon.
 
..And we've got to make it worthwhile to come to these events ;)

What's the fun if we release all the juicy rumors right afterwards :D
 
Attempts to load using the Java client give the following error message:
Startup error: java.lang. Error: Unable to load interface pixx: java.lang. Security exception: trusted loader(rest of error message can't be read)
My current Java is version 6 update 26 (build 1.6.0_26-b03)
 
Not sure what's up. Must be due to Java or browser issues because the Javachat applet is never touched on this end.

My advice is to download mIRC or another IRC client. They are much nicer than the javachat.
 
I believe I found out what was causing the errors. Just to be on the safe side, I updated to the latest version of Java. Testing of the chat client worked without the errors happening again.
