Shields in WCP?

Could anyone explain how the shields recharge in WC propecy???

my experience is they dont recharge at all

all feedback that is serious appreciated

BTW, in Prophecy, how the hell do you toggle between the various power modes to reallocate energy, like in WC IV???

I press "P" once, but then what? How do you increase/decrease each energy level???

I think s or shift s also changes your shield levels between fore and aft, when used with the joystick up or down.

Any comments?

What kind of comment do you want to hear? I can only say: Yes, you are right you can adjust the shield allocation by holding the "s"key and moving your joystick. :)

The shields are quite resilient in WCP. It's the only WC game where you can collide, and bounce off of ships because of your shields. In the other games, when ships collided, they went through shields, and crashed hull to hull.

I beg to differ... you could 'bounce' somewhat in Priv as well! I'm sure we've all enjoyed ramming into Talons and come out unscathed! :)

Well... no, not ALL of us... I have a copy of Priv, but refuses to work. But I didn't know that stuff actually bounced off your shields in that one...

Yeah it was fun ripping through Talons!

Or seeing Talons, Gothri and Dralthi run into asteroids, thats particularly funny :)

SHIELDS ;( EVIL

even if I allocate all power to shields they dont rechgarche even if I wait 1 hour (i went to eat not that I experiment noooooo huihihihi)

its happens everytime even if the shields are intact and just a little weaker they still dont recharge?

I had no need to re allocate power in WCP at all on any of the ships. If your shields are not regenerating, you took too much core damage that also damaged your shield unit to a point that it cannot regenerate anymore or regenerates at a far reduced rate. Try to avoid direct fire to the tail because that is where your energy is generated and where the shield unit is located on all WCP ships. If you take alot of damage to the rear, expect your shields and engines to suffer and not perform like they should.

RFBurns

Does this problem happen all the time? As RFBurns says, if you ever suffer armour/hull damage, check your damage control. Sometimes I get hit so hard in a Shrike, yet I'm still alive and in the red, and I find my shields are completely offline.

"Arrgh! I feel naked without my shields!"

I once saw too strakha's collide in an asteroid field in WC3. That was one of the funniest things id seen. One was avoiding my fire and the other an asteroid and they both just dived into each other and were gone. Did leave two more kills of my score though :(

No, the nice one is seeing CLOAKED strakha colliding. Makes you wonder why the Lance put that feature on their ships. And as for bounciness, WCP takes it all. Sure hitting another guy didnt even scratch paint in the Darkening, and it was possible to roadkill Talons once you hit level 5 shields, but it's still awfully hard to ram another ship off course into, say, an asteroid or the torpedo their buddy just fired.

New challenge: complete a mission without firing a shot. Merely ram other ships into debris and play a LOT of chicken with large glowing blue balls.
