Saga shmaga

Shipgate

Rear Admiral
I have one other question concerning the WC Saga that is being made. I've always been a little confused by what it is exactly. Is it really just a full game that some fans are making using like the WC prophecy graphics? Will this full game be available for download once it is done? Could someone just sum that whole thing up for me, what it is, and when it will be out? Is there anything I can do to contribute to this project. Not that I've any good computer skills. Ooh, I write good dialogue. Sure do!

The Wing Commander Saga is a Total Conversion Mod of the Wing Commander
Universe, using the Freespace 2 Engine.

Once it is finished, it will be for download (for free of course). We are working
on it, so that you will need only the FS2-Demo (which will be included in the
download I guess) in order to play.

Our Main-Focus is the WC3-Timeline, where our main-campaign is set too.
For more Info's you are welcome to check our forum here, our Website (link is
in my signiture), and the forums contained there. That should give you a good
overwiew of what you can expect.

As for the contribute, I think we are still looking for some voice-actors. So If you
own a microfone, got some actor-skills (nothing special, but you should be able to
bring some emotions in your voice) and are willing to help, be sure to contact Tolwyn. He is also the head of the project.

You can find the "looking for voice-actor topic" also in the forums. So, I hope this
gives you a good start. :)

Great!

Thanks for the info. I'm really looking forward to this. You guys are doing good too. The screenshots look so promising

yeah that's really good to hear...it's amazing how much demo's really contain sometimes....and how useful they can be...

Owns a microphone?!?! Hell I'm a recording engineering student. I have a professional recording studio at my disposal, as well as people who may be willing to do some voice work. One of my instructors in my advanced filmmaking class is a hollywood actor! His name is Dan Shor, you may remember him as ROM in Tron, or Billy the Kid in Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure. I may be able to get him into this. I have class with him tomorrow and I'll ask him. :D

Hey Joker-57, you are exactly the type of person that we need.

No kidding, decent sound engineering is one of the hardest things for fan made project to pull off effectively. Just what little 3d work I've done has proven that.

I sent a message to Tolwyn and I was wondering is ther scripting or anthing you guys can send me so I can show it to the guys I deal with and see if they are interested in doing this? If so send it to me, and I'll get together with them and show them the stuff. We will fly through stuff. We will be using protools and doing this all as SDII and AIFF files but we can convert to WAVs after we are done. Also let me know what kind of sample rates you guys want for the recordings. We usually record at 24bit, 48K for voice overs.
