I first wanted to visit the Gamescom but my girlfriend says no :/ Because of this I buy the Retaliator ! :p

Pls Ben answer about a later deal with the M50 ._. Can't buy it this week (Paypal acc empty :/) But to release of the Hangar App maybe next month I would buy it (again) ^^

First thing I thought of when I read "escort carrier". Hopefully it'll be a bit more ingenious then a reconfigured transport hull. To be fair it was its original design that kept her alive when the bow literally sheared off.
 
I do hope that, similar to Wing Commander's escort carriers, the Star Citizen ones retain the idea of the escort carriers having a better thrust-to-mass ratio than the big carriers (in other words, like how the Tarawa had destroyer-type engines built into it). Not that it should be able to completely outrun opposing destroyers and corvettes, mind you, but it should still feel enough faster than the Bengal heavy carrier to matter.
 
I think that the Star Citizen universe is quite different from the Wing Commander one. If you look at the Idris and the Specs...even the Sheffield Class is outgunned! Exeter and Gilgamesh are not a match to the weapons! Railgun, Ship to ship turret (like the AMG) , Anti Spacecraft Artillery, Missile Launchers... So a escort Carrier in the SC universe could be that good as a Waterloo Cruiser ;)

So I think from the specs, that my Retaliator is more a gunboat then a bomber. 5 turrets, 6 crewmember, 12 Missiles/Torpedos. More then half the weigth of the Idris, about half that size (larger then a Constellation 55m - maybe 70m) - That would be stronger as a WC Venture!

PS: I really want to see the specs of the frigate, destroyer and cruiser...

There is a Blu-Ray version of the series? Is it higher defenition than the original broadcast, or is it just all 13 episodes on one or two disks?
 
Nope. Its the HD on 3 Bluray disks. And a lot of extras. After see the series - why its only one season?? If a season 2 or another movie comes - I'm in!
