Questions and things version 2.0

Plywood Fiend

Rear Admiral
What follows is this time the result of having nothing better to do at 10 to 1 in the morning.

1. Am i right in assuming that Hobbes shaves? By the looks of his fur i'm guessing that he has to conform to some sort of confederation fur length regulation. Is this answered anywhere?

2. Anyone know a good place to go to get wing commander 1 screenshots? wedge 009's site aside.

3. Whatever happened to Dhakhath and Deathfang in wing commander 3? Were they mentioned in the novel?

4. Would you buy a genuine Kilrathi rug if you could?

5. Holding the Line and the happy endings of Prohpecy and Secret opps aside, do you think that the confederation could survive the Kilrathi prophecy of doom and darkness? Or have they jsut delayed the inevitable? Note (I never played either game so I don't know if they've been stopped for good or anything like that.)

6.Have you ever stood guard at you pet parakeet's cage with gun in hand when the time of the Sivar eshrad ceremony came about?

1. Unless the kilrathi are some kind of barbarians, they all probably shave.

2. No, not really.

3. I have no idea...

4. Dont you think that's a bit Warhammer 40k'ish?

5. If the nephilim continues their attacks, the terrans/kilrathis will eventually be overun. Unless they come up with some new fancy new bug spray...

6. No.

I'm sorry that i couldnt be of more help.

3. Whatever happened to Dhakhath and Deathfang in wing commander 3? Were they mentioned in the novel?

They're not in the novel - they show up as aces in the 3DO port and in the Wing Commander CCG.

The 3DO was a console in the mid-90s. It competed with the likes of the original Playstation and the Sega Saturn. The 3DO port of Wing Commander III was very different from the PC release -- it had higher quality video, more cut scenes and all the missions are 'remade' so there's more action.

The CCG was a customizable card game released after WC3 -- back when you could make a card game from any licensed property. Pretty game, nice painted art for everything but the ships.

We can assume he doesn't shave. You know what a shaved Kilrathi looks like? Go see the movie :p.

(why on earth would he need to shave to maintain fur length, anyway? You ever seen a cat shave?)

Hm, i guess thats ok if i ask a question? no?

I wonder how the medical threat meant are in wing commander? it must be pretty good, just look at Sparks, she got blown up several times and are fine after some days...

I think theres a quote from a WC novel(cant remember where) when one of the charachters says he is surpeised what they(doctors) could do when they got a body that was still alive. I think it was tolwyin in refernce to big duke???

Mobygames.com is a good site to get information on all sorts of games.

6.Have you ever stood guard at you pet parakeet's cage with gun in hand when the time of the Sivar eshrad ceremony came about?

Just don't get too close to your windows next time it's around... :p

.

Did the 3DO version released first? I have some early Preview screenshots of WC3 and it looks very odd and different from the original version.(It showes an Arrow which looks a lot like the Armada Arrow and a Kilrathi Dreadnought in very good Quality)I havent seen any 3do pictures so I thought maybe its from the 3do version.

Thank you TCSTigersClaw

Well if he had too much it might clog up his flight helmet, and having it all hang out the bottom would look foolish.

Then again, doesn't seem to matter to the rest of the Kilrathi. Maybe they have bigger helmets.

Maybe the fact that his fur seems shorter then all other Kilrathi's is a fashion statement.

Hmm I wonder then about these screenshots.Ill try and scan them and show them to you,I havent seen them anywhere on the net perhaps LOAF knows.

Thank you .Claw

Erm, if one cuts/trims his hair, one's hair gets shorter, but it is still there. If one shaves his head, one ends up BALD. So, no, it is not the same thing at all.

One would think people would be smarter than that.
