Question: WC1 characters

Hello, everyone!

I have a question regarding some characters in WC...

I'm currently working (just for fun, of course) on a movie script based on WC1, but I don't remember all first names of the characters correctly. I could need some help in finding out the first names of Spirit, Hunter, Knight, Doomsday and Colonel Halcyon (does he have a first name at all? ;) ).

Greetings
ButtSeriously

Tanaka "Spirit" Mariko
Ian "Hunter" St. John
Joseph "Knight" Khumalo
Etienne "Doomsday" Montclaire
Peter Halcyon

BTW, I just looked at Blair's record on Locke's website...

It doesn't mention the time Blair served on Tarawa with Bondarevsky and Kevin Tolwyn, as stated in the Heart of the Tiger novel! :)

By the way, I believe that Spirit's name is Mariko Tanaka, not the other way around. She is Japanese, and I believe that Japanese names follow the same model as European names, i.e. personal name first, family name last. And Blair calls her Mariko.

Never considered the possibility that the guy who wrote Claw Marks could make a... mmh... "mistake"? :)

He even wrote MarikE, and it is definitely MarikO! Marike is not a name in Japanese...

That was TC's dumb typo, it's not actually in Claw Marks.

Tanaka Mariko is her name, not Mariko Tanaka -- the family name goes first.

Wow, I don't get it! You scanned the pics from Claw Marks, but copied the text manually?

Couldn't you just scan the text as well?

Yes, but I still would have had to proof-read it... also, the formating's never quite how you want it. The pictures took fixing up too... If I had just been trying to copy the content I would have done that, but I wanted to get the right look as well... No matter what I'd done, I would have had to write my own HTML, so it wouldn't really save any time to scan it in.

Either way, there'd still be problems like that if it was scanned... OCR isn't perfect :)

Well if you actually copied the text, that's an amazing amount of work! And considering the cool result... BRAVO! :)

I never bought into Frosty being Casey's callsign. Dallas called him that, didn't he? I just suspected it was a nickname or something like that, like calling someone Jack. Doesn't mean their name is Jack, but... eh, you get what I'm saying.

The Frosty thing has to do with his father being Iceman. However, I don't believe that is his callsign, but then again, his squadron is tasked with giving a callsign.

BTW, IIRC, Japanese names are written family name first, personal last.

Eh? What was that last? Why would a squadron be tasked with giving callsigns when there's better stuff to do like blowing up Leviathans?
