Question for Kriss

Hey Kriss,

since U'r from belgium, U might be able to help me with my problem, I was wanting to get the wing commander movie on DVD here in belgium for region 2, but I can't seem to find it, just wondering cause U'r from this side of the water maybe U knew where I could get one. :-)

region 1 might work too, but I doubt U can get those in belgium

The Region 2 DVD only came out in a handful of countries like Denmark and Germany. You might be able to buy one from there online. These updates should list some online stores.

I got the Region 1 DVD the same way everyone gets Region 1 DVDs; I ordered one online.

The VHS was released here, if you don't mind pan-and-scan and hard subtitles. I think I ordered mine from either http://www.azur.be or http://www.proxis.be.

Well... I was just wondering.

How long, in solar years that is, will it takes for us to see a Wing Commander Special Edition come up?

Well, infinity, probably... I just don't see why somebody would want to make a special edition for a movie that sold as poorly as Wing Commander did...

The DVD didn't sell remarkably poorly, AFAIK... There still won't be a Special Edition.

I dunno. I'd imagine that a nicer edition of WC is *possible*... but far more likely if there were a show that was a little bit succesful.

This is especially true considering the film was put out by 20th Century Fox, who jumps the second they have a remote chance of making a dollar.

You don't know the number of unpurchased "Planet Of The Apes: The TV Series" remain at my local stores...

The fact that they released the PotA series on DVD is probably the coolest thing in the history of the universe, though.

If only they'd do the cartoon, too.

The two guys from the "Planet Of The Apes: The TV Series" reminds me of Starky & Hutch, i don´t know why...

The coolest thing ever is the entire first season of the original Outer Limits on DVD.

How DARE they conserve space, money, and energy!

Fine, you want to save all these things (and in so doing make a crappy, quick-to-ruin product) -- and then you should pass the savings on to the consumer.

Yeah, they definitely could've done a better job on the DVDs but the fact that they were digitally remastered. MGM does gorgeous clean-ups on their DVDs, no matter how inexpensive they are.

I didn't know that about the outer limits.. Strange I've never seen anything on that at all. I haven't really gotten into tv shows on DVD yet though. Hopefully I can hold off.. I've already got a hankering for more volumes in the Starship Troopers series and I think I'm going to start collecting Hamtaro next month.
