Privateer 2 - Helena Shlegel mission

Has anyone completed this mission? What is the key to defeating the Kiowan Warbird, a military prototype? I am fairly early in the game with a Shaman equipped with two Flux Beam MkII's, and two Hellraiser torpedoes. Am I way out of my league in attempting this or is there a weak spot on the Warbird that I might exploit if I'm lucky enough? Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Yeah, some of the capships are really tough to tackle in any ship. I'm surprised you're hanging in there with a Shaman. Something like a Prototype takes a while to hammer though, so I'd say you need more guns, more ordnance and a tougher ship.
 
Try some warpshields or simply nuke'em away - but only if you don't use a wingman!

And Chris got the point: inside of a shaman I never ever tried to complete a mission from the jobboard, only if the "storyline" forced me to do so...

As soon as I get my hands on a Duress I start to fly mission for money...
