Paradigm change in Wing Commander Fan Games, A Proposal

I've seen many excellent Wing Commander Fan Games, such as Standoff, WC Saga, and the Privateer Remake, and all of them center around the human side of the war. It would be stupid of me to say that I m the first to have this idea, but I always thought it would be an interesting twist to future Fan Games if you flew for the Kilrathi. I would suggest Wc2 era, as that is when both sides have the biggest variety of ships, and the design for the inside of the ships and fighters would be up to the creator's imagination. What does everyone think?

I thought about doing a Diablo 2 TC that would revolve around the early civil wars that unified the Cats under the Kiranka clan.
But I don't know where to start. I just have a story idea.

I think the Paradigm is a pretty cool ship as it is. No changes necessary.

I think the idea of making a Fan Game centered on the Kilrathi is a good one. It would be a way of bringing a new perspective to the story not to mention the fact that you would fly Kilrathi fighters that would takeoff from Kilrathi carriers and bases.

The point is that Armada lacks the space-opera-ness that makes Wing Commander games what they really are.

The main problem of implementing an idea like this is of course the critics ;-)

I think the point is that the original poster simply wanted new fan projects done in Kilrathi pov.

I'd be afraid that any kilrathi POV stuff would be a lot like TIE Fighter. All sorts of 'great' reasons to have you fighting anyone but ConFed.

I don't see what your objection is. The game would be an interesting change, as it would require a lot of creativity (But they'd better deesign the Kilrathi right).

Do not knock TIE Fighter. Ever.

I agree fully.

Besides, even if a series of games were made by Origin itself, I'm not sure there'd be much motivation to play on my part. After all, they lose in the end. Kind of like why there isn't a flood of FPS games where the campaign follows some little German boy and his antics in the Wehrmacht.

Only creative in the lengths by which it'd go to keep you from killing the "good guys" though. Halman makes a good point. Armada's missions to hunt the Lexington are great. A hypothetical game where you spend all the time hunting down rogue fellow Kilrathi, pirates, Nephilim, etc, might as well just have you in Confed.

Making you only fight rogue fellow Kilrathi, Pirates, and Nephilim would kind of defeat the purpose. It should be against Confed. You wouldn't have to kill any characters from the games.

Yes, but that's precisely what Halman said - he fears that a Kilrathi game might play like TIE Fighter.

TIE Fighter was a great game in which you played an imperial pilot conveniently stationed onboard the only Imperial ships in the universe that spent less than 1/10th of their time chasing down Rebels.
