P1 voice sound disable during play.

Whoa, Burns, have you been doing some slicing lately? The only bugs I ever got in Priv was having the male merchant speak in the female merchant's voice. :)

Ja, it's "simpleton" -- a word meaning something like "idiot".

Burrows is the Privateer's name, according to the original press release. Brownhair was the name 'given' to him by the fans -- because 'bluehair' was Origin's unofficial name for Blair pre-WC3. (Note that, unlike Bluehair, Brownhair was never used by Origin...).

Nah... I can see it... he's thinking about the ship, so he uses 'it'. He's personifying the ship but not using the female gender that most would.
Quite possible. Of course, it doesn't really matter - either way, it is a very odd person, that pirate :).

In a way . . . when you think about it . . . the whole Sector’s odd. Three borders marking three regions–Terran, Kilrathi, and the unknown. Put another way–the familiar, the fearsome, and the hidden. Hmmm . . . kind of like Freud’s ego, superego, and id.

Oh no! A pirate who calls everyone an “it”? A male merchant with a female voice? And those destroyer and fighter names . . . Paradigms and Demons. It’s not possible, is it? Then again, as the player, we don’t really jump from system to system . . . we get sneezed!

Yes, it’s all becoming frightfully clear, it’s . . . wait a minute, wait a minute. Sometimes a jump sequence is just a jump sequence. Right?:)

I ran into that he/she merchant too!! (guess sex gender in the future wont discriminate!) But no I did no such thing with slicing the game. I wouldnt have a clue as to how to slice a game! Im no coder. With my luck I would end up causing a major explosion. I have no idea how that merchant ended up in a Dralthi! I did manage to save the game just before leaving the Troy system. If it does this again, I will attempt a "grab" or a pic of the situation and send it to the CIC to post. It definately was weird. I thought that I had become friends with the Kilrathi, but the kill scores clearly showed them as hostile. I almost fired on it but caught the blue outline and thats when I said "Whisky Tango Foxtrot"! Not those exact words but something similar!
The he/she merchant must be some simple miss match of a sound file or the game is pointing to the wrong sound file for that scenario. I thought it was funny tho, and figured it was something the game makers put in on purpose to throw us off! An easter egg of sorts.
