I've had enough of these things!!!

I can't seem to stop them! Even if you get a anti pop-up software, it doesn't matter; they cut right through it after a few times.

I have no problem with the banner ads. They are productive and useful.

Pop-Ads are just annoying. I've never bought anything from a pop-up ad. The banner-ads I have checked though.

Some pop-up ads are downright destructive. Dozens of them pop-up, and when you shut the windows down, it signals MORE of them to pop up.

I seriously want these ads to be made ILLEGAL! As in you make them, you get fined!

My computer has been crashing for the past few months and these pop-up adds are largely to blame!

So, do you agree?

Extremely annoying and unuseful in my opinion. But I believe this is in the wrong forum - not that I really know or have the ability to move it
 
They should keep only those banner ads. I don´t buy anything from people who pop up in my computer.

Mozilla has excellent pop-up blocking (including javascript pop-ups). Very few get through. Next time you go surfing for porn, give it a try.
 
To outlaw them would you'd have to run the entire net under the proxy of a totalitarian socialist dictatorship.
 
OUTLAW THEM!!! i swear they are the root of all evil.... i cant escape them.... i open Internet Explorer and i get killed with pop-up adds!! i say that the inventor of pop ups should be dragged out into the street and shot!.... well maybe thats a bit much... but i do say outlaw them :D
 
Quite a few sites out there other than porn sites that sport the good ol pop-up's.

But, these should be expected, since the internet has turned into a marketing media since several years ago.

One pop up isnt so bad, two are ok, but three or more that continue to throw themselves up after closing the others should be illegal. Even for those porn sites, those should be banned.

Then again, there is always the "OFF" button, but no fun in that!

I'd have to go with banning them. And killing the cockbreaths who make the popups that crash your computer if you try and delete them.
 
Pop-ups are annoying, there's no doubt about that, but they're getting worse. I can tolerate single pop-ups which come with free personal web sites, OC Remix, and plenty of other legitimate sites. But they're getting sneakier with how they do pop-ups, especially ones which float in front of whatever you're looking at, no matter what you do, and pop-unders are bad as well when they clog up the taskbar. And pop-up ads which come from closing other pop-ups are the ultimate insult, but fortunately I don't see many of those... yet.

I think it may be time to come up from the mines. He appears to be dead. With the demise of DAL he's even given up the whole hanging around #wingnut not saying anything for months thing.
 
I agree with Kris. Get a proper browser (or a good firewall) and you won't see any popups anymore. Simple as that.
 
Outlaw them. No need to to have Big Brother either, we can do that ourselves! Find a pop-up, report the website!
