Outcome of Terran/Kilrathi War

I was making a reference to that god awful war movie, PEARL HARBOR, that is a romance, but was advertised as a war movie. Stars Ben Affleck, Josh Hartnet, and some others.

I thought the war scenes on that movie were pretty good.

Pearl Harbor was devastating to the United States, at first, but US was able to respond promptly and recover from the losses, helping a lot turning the tide of the war.

That movie wasn't romantic...

Ohhh I am not saying those portions were good, the movie was alright. I just was so annoyed with the advertising style that the post production team took. Twas not the best plan in my opinion.

Well, it was supposed to be a romance between the main characters... It turned out to be kindda a soup opera in my opinion. Who goes out with whose g/f and yea we thought you were dead... blah! It was a mess and shouldn't have been based off TITANIC.

OK, that's enough bad movie discussion, back to Wing Commander (if anyone says "Wing Commander was a bad movie they get punched in the face.") :)

Good man. Well stated! Now, when the Kilrathi invaded, there was a Concordia at McAullife if memory serves. Now wasn't that Concordia lost because it had to be scuttled due to battle damage?

Yes.

Well, at least a new Concordia was created. I'll admit, when I first got WC3 I was pretty depressed at the sight of the second Concordia crashed and burning in the opening movie. But she was a good ship.

That's at least the third Concordia. There's the Concordia Class SuperCruiser from the movie.

That is true, but I think we can conclude that it was destroyed by the end of the war since most of the ships in the confederation arsenal were destroyed and because usually there is only one ship to carry a specific name.

Who said it wasn't destroyed? Of course it was destroyed, and before the TCS Concordia Confederation Class Dreadnaught was put into service, which was long before the end of the war...

Does the Confederation Class Concordia ever use the Phase Transit Canon? I am pretty sure it was never used in the books (for some reason) and I was just wondering if anyone remembers it being used in the game(s)?

The Concordia fires off her PTC all the time, ingame. Any mission where there's another capship in the area, she'll shoot at it.

Capship?
Pfft!
She'll shoot fighters with the thing!
(and I thought Fralthras turning the AMGs on my bomber was bad...)

That's what I am tlaking about. Certainly the kind of gun that I would love to have on my ship. Now the question comes forth, How on Earth did they take down a Sivar Class Drednought to actually get the weapon from the Kilrathi? It certainly would be an awesome story to hear about and/or watch. You don't have to answer that I just think that it would be pretty cool to read up on... THE BUILDING OF THE CONCORDIA :D Awesome ship, deserves more credit.

Well, just in case you aren't aware, the Phase-Transit Cannon isn't the same weapon that was on the Sivar. It's a refinement of that weapon.

My bad. Opps. Yep it does say "refinement" of the Kilrathi Sivar's weapon. But without finding the Sivar weapon in the wreckage they wouldn't have been able to create the Phase Transit canon. At least they got the research from the Kilrathi. Too bad the Kilrathi didn't allow their ship to be destroyed better :D
